Miller/Cooper Case Returns To Federal Judge (Valerie Plame case)
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ep/20050627/en_bpiep/millercoopercasereturnstofederaljudge

NEW YORK Now that the U.S. Supreme Court has decided not to hear the appeals of reporters Judith Miller and Matthew Cooper, their cases will go back to the U.S. District judge who first held them in contempt for refusing to reveal their sources in the Valerie Plame case. He will have to decide if they should still be jailed, for how long, and under what circumstances.

Judge Thomas Hogan held Miller -- a New York Times reporter -- and Cooper, who writes for Time magazine, in contempt last fall, ordering them jailed for failing to disclose who leaked the identity of CIA Agent Valerie Plame.

Attorneys for the Times and a spokesperson for Time said Monday they had filed requests for a hearing before Hogan, but did not know when it might be heard.

"We've asked for a hearing to get this settled," said George Freeman, a Times attorney. "We have asked for a procedure and a schedule. I have no idea when it will be heard."

1. I still don't get why fuckface Novak is walking around free. Huh?
Nuances, yeah. But... come on.
What with no Michael Jackson trial, this could get ugly if the press sees blood?
Hope so.
Hope it is really really public.
And I hope Novak has to testify.

Ooooh, baby baby.

2. I always thought
investigators wanted to get Judith Miller and Matthew Cooper on record before they pursued Novak.

4. I want to see the dominos fall and find out where we end up.
Gonna be hard to sell this brand of treason even to the flag-wavin, pickup-driving Murkins.

I'm hopin we can fill the void on the news with this drama.
