Study: Radio listeners are most polarized
A study by researchers at the University of Missouri School of Journalism in Columbia found that radio listeners are the most polarized news consumers, due in part to shows hosted by conservative commentators such as Rush Limbaugh. Conservative listeners, the study revealed, have their views reinforced by these shows, which may lead to even more extreme views. Newspaper readers, conversely, are the least polarized, since without the time constraints of radio and TV, newspapers are better able to impart information on all sides of an issue. Surprisingly, Internet users also are less polarized, perhaps because of the depth and breadth of information that the Web can provide.

1. "Internet users are less polarized"????
I get all my news via the internet and I'm about as polarized as it's possible to get.

3. Less polarized != not polarized
Less polarized then radio listeners, which is true; if you are strictly a radio listener, then you are only receiving the point of view of the host whereas those who tend to use the Internet for information have access to discussion forums, news sites, and research points.

It's a fairly accurate study, although I could of probably told you that radio listeners are the most polarized without a study.

4. With the wealth of "information,"
accurate or not, and the massive numbers of conspiracy theories that can be available to the masses within milliseconds at the click of a button, you'd think the internet people would be among the nuttiest.

7. "Radio listeners are the most fucking psychotic..." is more like it...
Outside of organized religious cults, there is no mindset (or lack thereof) more hostile, myopic, relentless and mind controlled than right wing hate radio fanatics.

9. RWinger radio listeners are brainwashed
They've been taught to hate for over a decade now by that blowhard:

"due in part to shows hosted by conservative commentators such as Rush Limbaugh. Conservative listeners, the study revealed, have their views reinforced by these shows, which may lead to even more extreme views."
