Blair Tells AP Troops Must Stay in Iraq
Edited on Wed Jun-29-05 12:46 PM by maddezmom
LONDON - British Prime Minister Tony Blair said Wednesday that it was "vitally important" for coalition troops to remain in Iraq "until the job is done."

In an exclusive interview with The Associated Press, Blair described the conflict in Iraq as a "monumental battle" and said it was essential that troops "not leave until the job is done."

"That is vitally important. If we defeat these insurgents and terrorists in Iraq — and we'll only defeat them with the Iraqi people — we will beat that terrorism and insurgency worldwide," he said.

1. What, exactly, constitutes the "job being done"
Seriously

A country will never stand on it's own as long as it's being looted and plundered

2. Tony Tony Tony, it is "finish the Mission", not get the job done.
If you are going to be a player, you have to use the right words. (Why does Mr.bush use the word "Mission" in an Islamic war? I know it is military, but still.)

6. Delusional
If we "beat" the "terrorists" we will only create a geometrically larger group of terrorists. You don't make war on a tactic.

7. Of course, Blair & Bush are both equally guilty for this war and they
must cover each others back by issueing identical statements - once Blair gave the OK for Bush to use their country's bases, Blair had to join Bush because he would have been guilty of aiding & abbetting if this war was ever found to be illegal. Tony screwed himself from the get-go! Bush has Blair under his thumb and Tony can't do squat!
