15. Like seeing denials because MSM is more comfortable
using them as a springboard for their reporting.

For example, DSM coverage only took off in this country after the DSM question was raised at the Bush/Blair press conference. That way, MSM was able to report that Bush/Blair denied "fixing intelligence" and introduced the DSMs as a support to the story.\

NOT letting MSM off the hook for appalling lack of investigative reporting, but if the only way DSM gets covered is through the backdoor of denials, then let the denials begin.

them!" bullshit and look for him to craft a comment that would imply that they're fakes, forgeries, or are in any way inauthentic.

Funny thing is--he never does.

Oh...and this?:

"The trouble with having a political discussion on the basis of things that are leaked is that they are always taken right out of context. Everything else is omitted from the discussion and you end up focusing on a specific document," he said.

Thanks Tony! Now we KNOW they're real!

20. you really ought to go read the whole article
it's even worse than the excerpt would lead you to expect. blames the media for paying too much attention, and says that this was "nine months before" the war started, ignoring the previously-secret airwar escalation. ends off with a rendition of "9/11 changed everything".

if the emperor actually wore clothes, they would be tattered rags.

22. I did not rob that bank.
Why is it that if you kill someone, you go to jail. But if you are a politician, and you start a war that kills lots of people, you end up wealthy?

That was rhetorical.

It depends on what the definition of "kill" is. I can hear it now.

Blair Denies Memos Prove Iraq War Was Preset
By PAISLEY DODDS, AP

LONDON (June 29) - British Prime Minister Tony Blair said Wednesday the ''Downing Street memos'' paint a distorted picture, and he insisted that the Iraq war was not predetermined by the United States.

''People say the decision was already taken. The decision was not already taken,'' he said in an exclusive interview with The Associated Press.

Blair added he was ''a bit astonished'' at the intensive U.S. media coverage about the leaked memos, which actually were leaked minutes of a July 23, 2002, meeting between Blair and top government officials at his Downing Street office.

According to the minutes of the meeting, Sir Richard Dearlove, then chief of Britain's intelligence service, said the White House viewed military action against Saddam Hussein as inevitable following the Sept. 11 attacks

37. And when I bought a six pack of beer it was not predetermined...
...I would drink it.

For the love of God would Bush/Blair just admit the obvious?

Back in late 2002, Bush probably could have gone in front of the American people and said, "'Mericans, I want to invade Iraq and overthrow Saddam - I don't have really good reasons but I think in the long run it will make the US and the world safer". I bet 60% of the American people would have basically gone along basically saying, "Well OK, but do it right, get it over with, and get our troops back ASAP" But instead these guys are predisposed to deceive.

39. That's not what you meant? Then show us all the memos you have
that were from that time period to now. Show us the memo where is WAS determined that it would be the course of action of choice. Show us the memos and the documents leading from that memo to the day you made these statements. Show us the memos from your legal department, when they told you that there was no legal justification, then show us the ones that came after as the "legal problems" were being "fixed".

Yeah, sure, we don't believe you now either poodle boy.
