Iraq War takes toll on Army marriages
Edited on Wed Jun-29-05 08:48 PM by nikraye
Oh, the irony. But do we ever hear anyone calling for the end to the Iraq war to "save marriage" or to protect the "sanctity of marriage."

NEW YORK - While U.S. casualties steadily mount in
Iraq, another toll is rising rapidly on the home front: The Army's divorce rate has soared in the past three years, most notably for officers, as longer and more frequent war zone deployments place extra strain on couples.

"We've seen nothing like this before," said Col. Glen Bloomstrom, a chaplain who oversees family-support programs. "It indicates the amount of stress on couples, on families, as the Army conducts the global war on terrorism."

1. Oh, how hollow those "support the troops" stickers are!
It's easy to slap a sticker on the ass end of your car. But mix a little "for better or worse" with "support the troops" and we can see how thin the patriotic frosting is on the betrayal cake. Vets who've come back from a war zone taste bitter dust in their mouths whenever they see "support the troops" bumper stickers. Self-serving, hypocritical hogwash.

The really bizarre thing is -- she's got her sympathetic support group and he's got bupkis. "He changed" is what they say. Gee, who can argue with that? :eyes:

3. conducts the global war on terrorism
Propaganda

Its a war of Religion with the rich Capitalists becoming richer than God himself.

That's all it is a war of greed and a war to kill the brown Islamic man.

I think it is called the Prosperity Gospel, if you are richer than Croesus, god loves you. You are poor because god don't like ya!
