Bush's Judges Already Making Their Mark
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050709/ap_on_go_pr_wh/bush_s_judges

WASHINGTON - No need to wait until President Bush appoints a Supreme Court justice to see how he will make his mark on the federal judiciary. One level down, dozens of conservative appeals court judges appointed by Bush already are helping to shape the law in ways that ultimately could have as much, and in some ways even more, impact than the nine justices of the nation's highest court.

So far, Bush's appointees to the appeals court are showing patterns very close to judges of his Republican predecessors in ideologically contested cases, according to law professor Cass Sunstein at the University of Chicago, where the Chicago Judges Project is tracking the federal judiciary.

And according to NARAL Pro-Choice America, appeals court judges appointed by President Reagan and the two Bushes have been four times more likely to issue "anti-choice rulings" than judges appointed by other presidents.

By the end of his second term, Bush could eclipse Presidents Clinton and Reagan in the number of judges selected — and leave an ideological imprint on the courts for generations to come.

(end snip)

I just hope we can fix this mess before it is too late.

1. I guess it was worth fixing two elections and facing impeachment.
By Machiavelli standards, Bush has already won. Even if we succeed in impeaching Bush, he and the right-wing have won the next forty years.

2. It's amazing how many people willingly accept the chains placed on them.
bush and his cronies use this, very adeptly and very calculatingly, to their own advantage.

Meanwhile, the bushies celebrate their impending loss of freedoms which, supposedly, the terrorists hate.

3. Is There Any Undoing of This?
If Bush were to be proven to have stolen an election, could we essentially have the right to undo the damage this Nazi has done to our country?

4. Maybe judicial impeachment hearings
once the Repubs are out of power. Those judges who consistently and clearly are ruling on the basis of ideology (whether right or left) rather than on Constitutional Law might be subject to the impeachment process.

5. It May Take Time But A Foreseeable Option
I cringe at the thought of Fascism taking root the way it just has. We need to clean the roaches out!

10. we MUST watch these judges
we will need a concerted effort for many years to monitor these clowns, and nail them for their corrupt actions. but i have no doubt that each and every one of them, sooner rather than later, will commit impeachable acts.

8. Solution: Bu*h presidency ruled illegitimate due to overwhelming
evidence proving that the 2000 selection was fraudulent.

All actions taken by this administration are moot, including judicial appointees.

9. The pendulem swings
In sociology, you learn that once the pendulem swings as far to one side as it can, people get tired and it starts to swing the other way.

I have seen and talked to a lot of swing voters who deeply regret voting for Bush now that they have seen what he is doing to this country.I seriously doubt if they will vote republican again.

11. Is there somewhere we can monitor judges decisions?
The only decisions I ever hear about are the really radical ones that happen to hit the MSM. I would love to be able to monitor all decisions, een if you hav eto do it by Judge name.

I want to see all Janice Rogers Brown's decisions, and the other's Shrub managed to get onto the courts.
