Egyptian Ambassador's Wife Slams Government, 'His Blood on Their Hands'
The wife of Ihab al-Sharif, Egypt's top envoy to Iraq murdered by insurgents last week, angrily lashed out at the Cairo government which she said bore full responsibility for her husband's death.

"The blood of my husband is on the hands of the Egyptian government," the wife, whose first name was not disclosed, told the independent daily Sawt al-Umma in comments published Sunday.

She also pointed to the Egyptian foreign ministry as one of the culprits as she urged for "the immediate dispatch of a search party to recover" Sharif's body.

She said her husband's death was "the result of settling political accounts with the United States and Egypt," without elaborating further. "Everybody knows what I mean," she added.

2. Another nail in the coffin of reason
The gov't is responsible, just as surely as it held the knife. Yeah, sure.

And she wants the same gov't to create a search party.

Okey-doke.

I don't know enough about the situation, except that Egypt recieves the second highest amount of US foreign aid (read millitary aid) next to Israel.

7. The two are huge military partners
Prior to the invasion of Iraq, the US military, along with a multi-nation force, lead an FTX (field training exercise) called Bright Star....Bright Star was the mock invasion of a country "like" Iraq.(urban warfare,"terrorists" were the biggies instead of "traditional" forms of warfare)

There really is no telling just how deep the connection and exchange of materials between the US and Egypt actually is - though I suspect Egyptians have a better idea of it than Americans do.
