Cleveland Plain Dealer - Must be about OHIO ELECTIONS |
|
Edited on Sun Jul-10-05 09:22 PM by chaz4jazz
I know this was written about on July 9th from story published in the NYT regarding the CPD not wanting to publish two stories of important information for citizens concerning the government. They are afraid of the now broken shield that once protected reporters. Obviously the sources of the information who tipped off the reporters for the Plain Dealer requested to remain anonymous.
My thoughts: Frist, the Judge AND Fitzgerald agree that in the Rove/Plame case there is no "whistleblower" therefore no reason to shield a criminal act (the disclosure of Plame). In the Plain Dealer cases obviously these are whistleblowers who are reporting on illegal or criminal acts by our Administration so there would be shield coverage. They should have figured this out.
Second - most important: It has been asked by blogging columnists why these tipsters went to the Plain Dealer in the first place. I also wondered (would the NYT be afraid to publish something that could shake the foundations of the Administration if it was fact?).
Why the Plain Dealer? How about because it must deal with the last election and fraud in the OHIO elections. The Plain Dealer IS Ohio's main newspaper. Any thoughts?

2. Personally, I think they want publicity. |

When was the last time the Plain Dealer broke a dish, let alone a story? Come one. We should all write to them and tell them to stop faking it, strap on the absorbent undergarments and write the damn story.
Personally, I don't believe they have a damn thing.

The exact title and link are required. It sounds like a good story, I would like to read it.
