14. Doesn't matter.
He's been a guaranteed conservative vote on every issue. Can't get much harder right than Rehnquist.

Frankly, I don't believe in hell, but if I did, I know there would be a special pool of boiling shit for that rotten lying bigoted son of a bitch.

Hope the ambulance gets stuck in traffic.

19. Yes, it DOES matter.
Whoever gets appointed has twenty/thirty years to maim our nation. Rehnquist doesn't have that much left. I need him to hang on with his fingernails.

Who else?

There's O'Connor, and then Rehnquist, who's been sick and won't be a big surprise...who else?

Did I miss something?

13. Ginsburg or maybe Stevens
That's what I saw in an AP article, that Ginsburg may leave soon because she has/had cancer and she doesn't like her job and Stevens is 85 years old.

24. That Would Make 4! All Is Lost If Bush** Gets To Appoint 3 or 4 Justices
Edited on Wed Jul-13-05 07:04 PM by AndyTiedye
If Bush** gets to replace O'Connor, Rhenquist, Stevens, and Ginsberg,
then ALL of the freedom we once knew is toast.

It woudldn't be a question of saving Roe, they'd ban abortion and birth
control from the bench on the first day.

Then they'd decide you weren't really an American citizen if you're
gay, or belong to the "wrong" religion.

With as many as SIX Supreme Court seats being held by Fundies,
we would turn into a full-blown theocracy within a year.

20. honestly, we know that even if he does stay on the court
he will certainly retire next summer, while * is still in office so that they can nominate another contard while the repugs have power.

Just like Stevens...he should have retired when Clinton was in office.
Now he is 85 years old, can he hold on until we regain the office in '08 ?

22. Not again
Just when the media was putting some real heat on Rove, Rehnquist goes to the hospital. If he passes away, the media will spend at least two weeks commemorating his career and covering his memorial service. The coverage may not be as extensive as Reagan's, but it will be 24/7. After the memorial service, AWOL will announce his two new SCOTUS nominees which will be front page news for weeks.

Just when I thought we had Rove by the sack, he is going to slip away. Only an indictment will breath life back into the Rove story if Rehnquist goes. I hope he has a great doctor and pulls through.
