Zarqawi group denies deadly blast
THE group of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, al-Qaeda's leader in Iraq, denied today any link to the suicide bomb which killed 32 Iraqi children, saying it rejected attacks on "ordinary people".

"Our way in the al-Qaeda organisation of fighting the enemies of God, the Crusaders and their tails of (Iraqi) army and police, is well known," said the statement, whose authenticity could not be confirmed.

"Our Sheikh Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, who supervises personally all operations from planning to execution, is very keen on making sure that ordinary people are not targeted," it said.

Thirty-two Iraqi children were killed yesterday when a suicide car bomber blew himself up against US soldiers as they handed out chocolates in a Baghdad neighbourhood, according to the latest toll.

2. This is an example of how sick my world has become since
the coup of 2000. With all the lies and bullshit this administration has spewed since they have obtained power, with our fourth estate selling it's soul in the process, I sincerely do not know what to believe anymore regarding the war in Iraq. When I hear that we killed 40 insurgents the first thing that comes to my mind is the fake body counts used in Vietnam to brainwash Americans in to believing that we were winning that war. I am in my forties and I have never been so distrustful of my own government in my entire life. I hate feeling this way.

3. why are they handing out candy to kids?
the troops know they're targets, and so that they'd be endangering the kids.

I'm sure Iraqi parents are telling their kids to stay away from the troops, but kids are easily lured.

Residents of the neighborhood are blaming the U.S. military for this tragedy, they're saying the military was using the kids as human shields, and they have a point.
