Terrorism high on agenda of Indian PM's meeting with Bush

New Delhi, July. 15 (PTI): Threats posed by terrorism and cooperation in civilian nuclear energy are expected to be high on the agenda of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's meeting with U S President George W Bush, in Washington on Monday when several initiatives for bolstering bilateral ties could be announced.

During his discussions with President Bush in the White House, the Prime Minister is likely to highlight the importance of comprehensive cooperation in civilian nuclear energy while emphasising that India has been and will remain a responsible nuclear state.

The US President will host a dinner for Singh and Secretary of State Condolezza Rice, will have a luncheon meeting with him.

Singh will have separate interaction with Vice-President Dick Cheney, Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, and the US Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neil, besides other key officials.

On July 19, he will address the joint session of US Congress. He will also meet representatives of the House International Relations Committee and India Caucus.
