Rossi Won't Seek Senate Seat in Wash.
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Filed at 6:52 p.m. ET

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) -- Dino Rossi, the businessman who lost last year's governor's race by a historically thin margin and failed to overturn it in a court challenge, announced Friday that he won't run for U.S. Senate next year.

In a letter, Rossi said he was flattered to be considered as a challenger to Democratic Sen. Maria Cantwell. But he said he didn't want to disrupt his family and is focusing on working to better the state.

1. Good news. Though i think Cantwell would have won comfortably,
it's now in the solid-safe category.

4. .....is focusing on working to better the state?
He can start by coming out against Intiative 912. I-912 would roll back the gas tax and delay repairs on the state's slowly crumbling transportation infrastructure.

I'm not holding my breath. Something tells me he'll be non-committal on the initiative.

5. Good
Let him lick his wounds a lot longer :-) Not that he could have taken Cantwell's seat anyway.

11. Finally, I knew this was coming.
He's a good man in that respect. He values his family and doesn't want them to become poisoned by the DC atmosphere, just his own.
