Senate gets expert advice on Iraq

CAPITOL HILL Security and strategy -- two words that kept coming up from experts testifying on Iraq before the Senate Foreign Relations committee.

Kenneth Pollack of the Brookings Institution told senators that the difficulties in Iraq can be narrowed down to overall problems with security. Pollack says those problems are "hampering the political, economic and social development" of Iraq.

Retired General Barry McCaffrey says the U-S needs to concentrate on strategy. McCaffrey says a legitimate Iraqi state must be created and the Sunnis have to be a part of the political process.
