Iran Supreme Leader: "US troops harming Iraq"
Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei told Iraqi Prime Minister Ibrahim Jaafari that US troops were harming his country, in a reminder of Tehran's opposition to the foreign military presence in its former foe, according to AFP.

It was the first time that US military support for Jaafari's government had been brought up since his arrival on Saturday amid clear efforts by both Iran and Iraq to turn the page on their devastating 1980-88 war.

"The US soldiers are doing much harm to Iraqis and to the peoples of the region," Khamenei told the Iraqi premier during a reception in the northeastern city of Mashhad.

The Muslim world is "unhappy with the actions of the Americans in Iraq," the ISNA student news agency quoted him as saying.

2. We've created a massive mess in the mideast.
The carefully constructed colonial ethnic mishmash of Iraq is unravelling, and with it the entire political structure of the middle east. With the Iraqi buffer gone, what political force will oppose and counter-balance an ascendent shiite confederacy? Saudi Arabia, already teetering in the twilight of its corrupt monarchy, is in no position to lead anything. The new sunni force is lead by the radical, sunni-nationalist and islamic insurgent forces allied with al qaeda. We are training, in the crucible of the Iraqi Blunder, the forces that will topple the established order.

Bin Laden's plans are exceeding expectations. And our plans? How are they going?

8. Greater Shi'iastan thanks us for our assistance.
With any luck they will be able to stabilize the situation in Pakistan and Afghanistan once we get out of the way.

3. I don't know exactly how he did it but Charles Osgood *spun this*
into a positive for the USA.

Warning: Excessive spin - barf alert!

Iranian President Khatami seems ready and able to help. His security forces are already cracking down -- with some 200 al-Qaeda members in Iranian prisons.

But why would Iran, a charter member of the axis of evil, and a country which considers the United States its top enemy, want to do anything that might end up essentially bailing out the US?

Perhaps it's because Iranian officials have been listening to what President Bush has been promising the people of Iraq ever since April 10, 2003. :wtf:

BUSH: "We will help you build a peaceful and representative government that protects the rights of all citizens. And then, our military forces will leave."

Yes, it's INSANITY galore when the RW whores go a spinning for their corporate masters. :puke:

5. Amazing, Iran and Iraq partners. They fought a war for eight long years.
Thousands and thousands died. They hated each other.

Good work george. You did the impossible.

7. It figures, doesn't it?
This administration proves yet again how we are now preceived in the world. Even these two will kiss and make up. Way to go.
