Bush resumes push for social security

WHITE HOUSE President Bush is back on the road today, pushing for an overhaul of Social Security.

He travels to Atlanta to repeat his call for private accounts as part of Social Security.

Congressional Republicans continue to try to reach agreement on the issue, and have put off a vote until after they return from the August recess.

I guess he doesn't really look at polls -- his social security scam is dragging his numbers down -- he don't get it do he?

7. pResident Numb From the Neck Up never knows when to quit beating
a dead horse, does he? Does he think that with all the news about the incompetence and corruption in his administration he's going to gain any traction on an idea no one wants to hear about? Why is he doing this? Is this a personal thing with this guy or is it what Dick and KKKarl send him on the road to do so they can get his ignorant ass out of the way?

You know, no man has done more to lower the respect level in the people's eye for the office of President than Chimpy. I think historically, that will be his legacy.

His hand picked crowds are a welcome relief from the cold hard reality of his pending impeachment.

14. Watch out for conference committees on Social Security.
The Trojan Horse Method of getting legislation passed and signed has been used by the GOP (with GOP-controlled committees) before. They will try it with Social Security. That's why the president ignores poll numbers.

15. If THAT's their best effort at distraction
from the Rove Leak Scandal, then the geniuses in the WH are running plumb out of common sense. Which is good for the good guys.

I suspect that trip was already scheduled, and W is still dreaming he can convince us all we need to endorse HIS plan for SS. His thought process (such as it is) on this was probably something like, "Well, I can use my plan to 'rescue' SS to draw attention away from Karl's leaky problem."

Sometimes what scares me most about this guy is that he honestly believes his own propaganda. Perhaps not, perhaps it's all in Rove's grand design, the original plan to thoroughly screw the citizens of the United States. But it makes me wonder how ANYONE can be so inept and unimaginative....

One thing I recall speculating on when W & Crew were returned to the WH last year was that at least everyone would have four more years to see through the BS. It's always hard for any president to maintain a fascade or keep a secret clear through to the end of a second term. Remember how Reagan's dementia began showing for real and beyond the capability of his handlers to disguise it during his second term?

And all this talk about W having fallen off the wagon ... well, if that's true, then the tremendous stress of the last 10 days or so of the Rove Leak Scandal and continued bad news from Iraq surely is going to push him further toward dis-integration and de-compensation. i can't see the guy holding up very well for much longer....

And once this becomes clear to the public, even his supporters, "Captain" W would have a mighty hard time keeping rats from deserting his ship. The more his minions desert him, the more likely it is some with inside info we haven't heard yet will divulge it.

My greatest regret is how all this will look to the rest of the world. But then perhaps we should celebrate, because if Americans demonstrate (even at this late date) their refusal to be duped any longer and their desire to eliminate this infection in the White House, maybe others will regain a smidge of respect for us.

As the smelly onion of scandal continues to reek more strongly with the peeling back of every layer in the Rove & Cheney plot to mislead the people into going to war in Iraq, however, it becomes easier for anyone to see how they succeeded. It took a LOT of pre-planning and the utilization of many different figures prominent in the administration (and some not so prominent) to accomplish their end of taking Saddam down.

I was taught not to express open GLEE when my opponents fall apart and bite the dust, especially publicly. But holding my satisfaction inside grows more difficult every day.

:woohoo: :applause:

And the show on the big stage continues.

16. Well he promised his constituents, the million dollar a plate attendees
that he would let them get their greedy little hands on our social security money and he always keeps his promise.

Maybe the repukes see their time is running out and if they don't help the Wall Street Bankers now the coming Dem congress will not let it happen.

I see them passing a law privatizing social security even though 100% of the people don't want them to do it. This proves that repukes don't give a shit about the working class yet the fucked up freepers will go along with anything they want.

22. the dog and pony show
i keep wondering what they are really doing on these visits. i think it is a ruse to do their mafia-like work. i picture them dropping in on towns, visting local officials, dropping bribes, twisting arms, making threats. nice election system you got here folks, be a shame if anything happened to it. that federal highway project you got there looks nice, too.
maybe i am getting paranoid, but nothing they do is what it seems, and this whole thing is just getting too elaborate.

23. It's like the last days in Hitlers bunker...
Spouting off about secret plans and new and inventions to help Germany and destroy the invaders.
He gathers only the faithful to help him so he only gets positive replies.
Yet somewhere deep down in his pea brain he realizes that Germany is doomed no matter what he does, so he feels that he must keep alive an image that the German people can rally around.

So now replace Hilter with moron* and Germans with repukes and there you have it.
