Arroyo defensive after impeachment
Speaking hours after opposition legislators filed an impeachment complaint against her in the latest move to force her out, scandal-plagued President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo yesterday urged Congress to change the constitution to shift to a parliamentary form of government to ease the Philippines' constant political instability.
"The system clearly needs fundamental change -- and the sooner, the better," Arroyo, the subject of an impeachment complaint filed earlier in the day, said in her annual state of the nation address to a joint session of Congress.

A parliamentary system -- where lawmakers can vote out a sitting government -- would ease the upheaval that accompanies ousting a leader who has lost the ability to govern.

These opposition/moral legislators LIVE in the PHILIPPINES! Do you know what that means? They live in a place where there is no law, no justice, NO PROTECTION from cronies, mafias... hired by Arroyo or Bush/Cheney. Their lives, their childrens, their spouses, their businesses... all in danger/threatened to be exterminated. But yet they have enough MORALITY to DO THE RIGHT THING!

It brings me back to my own country where our Democratic leaders and nothing but a bunch of SUCKING COWARD PUSSYS!

2. 2007 - In other news
July 26, 2007. Washington D.C.

"Speaking hours after U.S. legislators filed an impeachment complaint against him in the latest move to force him out, scandal-plagued President George W. Bush yesterday urged Congress to change the constitution to shift to a totalitarian form of government to ease the country's constant political instability.

"The system clearly needs fundamental change -- and the sooner, the better," Bush, the subject of an impeachment complaint filed earlier in the day, said in his annual state of the union address to a joint session of Congress."

4. No end in sight to Arroyo crisis
Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo's proposal for reform of the political system ran into opposition yesterday, delaying for perhaps months a solution to the crisis over an impeachment case against her.
A day after Arroyo called for a "great debate" on overhauling the dysfunctional political system, doubts were surfacing about whether the move was genuine or a diversionary tactic amid her worst political crisis.

Arroyo's allies and opponents alike were quick to pour cold water on the long-debated change to a parliamentary system from the US-style presidential system that many say has failed the country but benefits many politicians handsomely.
