BBC: London Bomber(s) Arrested
Edited on Wed Jul-27-05 02:35 AM by CJCRANE
"Police investigating the failed London bomb attacks on 21 July have arrested four men in Birmingham under the Terrorism Act 2000.
It is thought one man held in the Hay Mills area could be of one of the four suspects in the bombings. A suspect package was found during his arrest.

Three other men were arrested in the Ward End area of Birmingham and are in custody in the West Midlands."

1. Police use Taser: more details
"The man was held after being shot with a Taser stun gun and has been taken to London's high-security Paddington Green police station for questioning".

2. Does this mean finally a TRIAL of a TERRORIST. You mean he will actually
Edited on Wed Jul-27-05 05:40 AM by freedomburn
have a day in court? Did he forget to wear his "Don't shoot me, I'm not a Brazilian" t-shirt? Will they allow him any kind of vehicle for spouting his dogma?

My belief is that al Qaida is the CIA who has been whipping up these jobs on purpose to destabilize things. Some people are profitting from the fear and hysteria and there is a junta in our government promoting violence. Eventually they knew that letting the mullahs spout fantatical rantings would lead to copy-cats, so maybe that's what these guys are. Now maybe there really is an al Qaida where before there were only covert ops. I would really like for there to be a lot of trials and I would listen very closely to what these guys say. Maybe I'm conspiratorial, but I do not trust BFEE to shy away from heinous acts when it suits their interests. A forthcoming trial in England? I won't hold my breath.

3. Everytime I hear someone say an attack was Bush/CIA
I keep getting reminded of what Ward Churchill said on the Mike Malloy show. Mike asked him about MIHOP, and Ward replied (paraphrasing) "It's kinda racist to suggest that brown-skinned people can't do things like this without the help of some rich, white overlord"

Also, as they fuck up at everything they do. I don't rate Bushco as being smart enough to pull these things off without getting caught.

4. I don't see it as racism exactly...
I see it as America-centrism (is that even a word?) The theory that nothing happens in this world that isn't controlled by Americans or the American government. It's quite silly, isn't it?

6. The truth is usually somewhere in-between
the official story and the conspiracy theorists.

The last few years have shown that once the facts are out they are often closer to the conspiracy theories than the official cover story...

5. Sometimes they do get caught
(or at least ussed), such as the case in Italy where they've indicted 13 CIA agents (that was just for kidnapping though). I'm sure other DUers will furnish more examples.
