MoD admits 'vacuum' after Iraq war
The Ministry of Defence admitted it had failed to foresee the scale of potential resistance in post-war Iraq.

In its official response to a scathing MPs' report on the handling of post-conflict operations, the MoD acknowledged that there had been a "strategic vacuum" immediately after the fall of Saddam Hussein.

And it accepted that considerable "time and effort" would be needed before responsibility for maintaining security in the country could be handed over to the Iraqi government's home-grown military and police services.

1. Oh, what a little, teensy mistake that was made. HAH!
It was gross negligence, a failure to fulfill an invader's responsibility. It resulted not only in chaos directly responsible for the quagmire the 'allies' are in today -- it also resulted in the loss, including destruction as well as theft, of irreplaceable items cultural heritage in the 'cradle of civilization.'
