Bush: Rove has 'my compete confidence' despite leak
WASHINGTON (Reuters) -
President Bush on Monday declared "complete confidence" in his top political adviser, Karl Rove, despite his alleged role in leaking a covert CIA operative's identity, according to an interview.

"Karl's got my complete confidence. He's a valuable member of my team," Bush said in his strongest defense yet of Rove, the architect of his presidential campaigns.

Bush made his comments in a roundtable interview with several Texas newspapers, portions of which were posted online by Knight Ridder Newspapers.

Bush said last month that he would fire anyone found to have acted illegally in the case, but critics accused him of lowering the "ethics bar." Bush and his aides have at times in the past been broader in saying that those involved in the leak would face consequences.

23. TAKE 1>>"Rove has my complete confidence" BECAUSE of his leak....
That turd blossom boy saved my ass with that one, I tell you. I was up a tree, coon dogs on my ass. Then Rove pulls this gag and leaks all over the CIA... damm, I was laughing so hard I almost pissed myself...

Oh, was the camera on? I wasn't supposed to say that live... can we re-do that?"

3. Complete confidence, despite having no idea what he does or why.
Because Bush knows, no matter how much Rove may commit crimes or hurt our country, Rove'll never, ever, ever snitch on Bush. Rove is a good worshipper of our Great Leader, Commander in Chief, GodKing.

Bush uber alles.

49. It's not Rove's style to be a worshiper
He's the point man, and he knows every little secret done by anyone near either * or * senior. * is standing by him because he knows the sos will bring him down if he doesn't stand by him and do exactly what he says. Where do you think the DeLay leaks came from just when DeLay was starting to throw his weight around and crossed the WH? Then DeLay promises to be good and the leaks magically stop.

Why do you think * calls him "turd blossom"?

The Bolton appointment, Scotty's snippy attitude at today's press briefing, and now this declaration of confidence in Rove. I get the feeling that something big and bad is about to happen making many of our current concerns irrelevant. I've got to shake it off.

>> I swear if we attack Iran then the streets of America will have riots like we have never seen. <<

If Americans haven't rioted over the stolen elections and the war against the middle class, what makes you think Iran will be the tipping point?

No, Americans won't start rioting until they are personally hurt by rising oil prices and food shortages. As long as our policies only hurt brown people in other countries, the vast majority will only frown disapprovingly.

I think many other countries people are much closer to the tipping point than most of our people are.

How bizarre would that be. The beacon of democracy has to be saved from itself.

33. Welcome to DU! That strikes me as being a part of it, certainly.
He's a spoiled little snot-nose who, not long after he first "took" office, turned to somebody in the attendant press corps "who cares what you think?" I think that's been his whole life. What's important to him doesn't extend beyond his own nose and how far his grubby little hands can grab. It strikes me that this is always how it's been with this guy - arrested development at maybe about age five or six (with apologies to five- and six-year-olds everywhere). All he knows is that he wants his own way, and that he's entitled to have it.

World's biggest entitlement program: the presumptive ownership of OUR White House by the family bush.

The "man" makes me heave.

31. Actually, I thought it was a pretty gutless report
"Rove was the first person to tell a Time magazine reporter that Wilson's wife worked at the CIA, but did not disclose her name, according to the reporter."

Only *-kissin' jackasses think that matters. Certainly, any reporter covering this story should know by now that the law doesn't say anything at all about "name" -- it says "identity" -- but that idiotic talking point keeps getting repeated, regardless of the obvious stupidity.
"Plame's husband, former diplomat Joseph Wilson, said the leak was meant to discredit him for criticizing Bush's Iraq policy in 2003 after a CIA-funded trip to investigate whether Niger helped supply nuclear materials to Baghdad."

Whereas *-lovin' jackasses understand that integrity-restoring *Co probably had some really, really good reason for the leak, 'cause they don't do shit like that just to discredit enemies. And let's not even mention that Plame was "criticizing Bush's Iraq policy" of lying us into this mess.
"Bush said last month that he would fire anyone found to have acted illegally in the case, but critics accused him of lowering the "ethics bar." Bush and his aides have at times in the past been broader in saying that those involved in the leak would face consequences."

Right, only "critics" would dare "accuse" * of anything. *-lickin' jackasses understand that his previous statements were merely "broader," and all he said was they would "face consequences."

Seems to me this guy was trying to "balance" facts with *Co spin.
