Bush says closures won't be political
(The emphasis is mine)

WASHINGTON — Maine is facing major job cuts in the current round of base closures, President Bush acknowledged Tuesday, but he said he won't interfere with the process. "I understand this is difficult," Bush said during a roundtable discussion with reporters from eight regional newspapers, including the Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram. "I know Maine fairly well. It's a fantastic place. It's difficult for folks."

He said he will take a "good look" at the recommendations of the Base Realignment and Closure Commission. "What I'm not going to do is politicize the process," he said. "That's important for people to understand."

...

The Pentagon wants to close the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery and the Defense Finance Accounting Service office in Limestone and relocate the aircraft now stationed at Brunswick Naval Air Station. In all, some 7,000 jobs are threatened.

Maine's entire congressional delegation and Gov. John Baldacci are opposing the round of base closures both because of the job losses - Maine stands to lose the second most in the country - and out of concern for national security.

3. When someone with his credibility says, "It Ain't Rainin"
I am heading outside only with an umbrella in hand.
When he says the closing won't be political - JUST WHO THE HELL THOUGHT there would be reprisals against Blues States? I heard of no one mentioning that as a possible scenario.
He is a confirmed liar. He hears voices. He is the worst president this country has ever had. And guess what? He just made the base closings political.

Nothing this shit head has said or done since January 2001 hasn't been political. Everything's political. Every breath everybody in the White House takes is fucking political!

Charles Manson has more credibility than GWB!

(He's also more of a uniter, not a divider, than GWB!)

13. Be good and accept our closures as nonpolitical ...
and maybe Santa Claus will bring you a nice present.

Well, at least the latter part would be more believable.
