Hil's foes hit a cash problem
BY MICHAEL McAULIFF
DAILY NEWS WASHINGTON BUREAU

WASHINGTON - It looks like the masterminds who launched the anti-Hillary Clinton campaign Stop Her Now will have to stop her later.
According to information filed with the IRS Friday, Stop Her Now had raised just $12,337 - while spending $27,146.

Political observers, long familiar with passionate anti-Hillary Clinton sentiment in much of the country, had expected a better showing by Stop Her Now.

"I am surprised that is the case," said Doug Muzzio of Baruch College.

The anti-Clinton group was hatched with great fanfare last spring by Arthur Finkelstein, the man who helped Gov. Pataki topple another Democratic icon, former Gov. Mario Cuomo. Stop Her Now promised to raise $10 million to knock down the Democratic senator in her 2006 reelection bid and damage any hopes she has of running for President in 2008.

But I think we already knew that.

10. Why would the Republicans fund such an effort when they are working so
hard at making her the nominee? The funding will come after she is the nominee.

11. But this is about anti-hillary money, not pro-republican money.
This group was looking for grassroots anti-hillary support from people who are interested in the issue of stopping Hillary as an end unto itself.

It is considered a matter of political fact that large swaths of this country hate Hillary Clinton, not as a Democrat, but as a person.

3. GOP consultant Arthur Finkelstein marries gay partner
Edited on Wed Aug-03-05 09:07 AM by IanDB1
I sent Finklestein a gift membership to The Human Rights Campaign as a wedding present.

I have yet to receive a thank-you card for the cute little "Equality Bear."

The card reads, "I sincerely wish you all the joy and happiness you have brought to others who share your situtation."

4. This is a case of the idiot wing-nuts believing their own bullshit.
The fringe right are the only ones with any real Clinton hatred out there. Most people are simply neutral on Hillary and most actually like Bill. These right wing fanatics are even dumber than we thought - they actually believe themselves...

5. Here's an idea: Get someone out of retirement that the GOP hates...
and have that person announce that they're going to run for President.

Let the right-wing blow a wad of cash attacking someone who doesn't really intend to run.

Can we think of any rich, ultra-liberal Democrats who have nothing to lose and are gluttons for punishment?

Maybe we can convince Jane Fonda to announce her candidacy, just so the right-wing will spend all their money swiftboating her?

6. Great Idea
Michael Moore for President 2008... brilliant! Hannity would have a fucking aneurysm.

You know I was thinking about something the other day. If Republicans wanted to win 2008 with a REAL vote count, all they'd have to do is a lot of pump money into Mrs. Bill's primary campaign. If she's the Dem nom. We're boned in '08 for sure.

7. Love this journalistic integrity
"long familiar with passionate anti-Hillary Clinton sentiment in much of the country"...

Huh?

What a bunch of dumbasses.. the DU alone helped raise 50 grand for a sick pal and in short time..

amazing ignorance -- this is how they lose folks, seen it before, they become so impacted with their own bullshit that they lose all connection with REALITY and regular people..

and that's when we win.. it takes awhile, usually about 8 years, 6 in a good cycle, that's why they have to do 200 years worth of damage to the country as quick as they can, before the stench of their death breath and the squishy sounds of their brains slopping around in their thick skulls become intolerable to just plain folks..

most of which who have lost their life savings, retirement, medical, homes and family members in a fake war..

It's the cycle of american politics..

it's also why Bush is HIDING right now, he's screwed and he knows it, they are GOING DOWN, like a fat turd in a slow toilet..

But if you google bush & Iraq you'll get puppies and butterflies for another 8 years..

12. All this Hillary hate ...
Hillary Clinton is still one of the most popular and admired women in this country. Even a significant slice of the Republican rank-and-file give her the thumbs-up.

It's the Press and the headless-chicken Right who hate Hillary.
