Updates on Cindy Sheehan Visit to Crawford.
The Lone-Star Iconclast newspaper is live blogging Cindy's arrival at the gates of the Crawford Ranch. Here's the latest article:

When Cindy Sheehan got off her bus in Crawford around 11:40 a.m., she was greeted with applause and swarmed by reporters. Some of the meda covering the event, along with The Iconoclast, were ABC, CNN, CBS, and AFP (French form of AP).One man carrying a sign, Allen Goodwin from South Florida, commented that he is for peace, "but Bush isn't." His sign reads "Somebody lied."

Currently, a bus provided by Veterans for Peace is taking about a dozen members, including Cindy Sheehan, to the checkpoint in front of President Bush's ranch. Sheriff's Department Captain Kenneth Vanek said prior to departing to lead the caravan, "As long as y'all work with us, we'll work with y'all."

Following the bus is a train of automobiles, numbering about 15.Sheehan said she is prepared to go to jail if necesssary, but is expecting a peaceful confrontation. The McLennan County Sheriff's Department is acting as the escort to the checkpoint.

With the arrival of Sheehan's bus, there were at least 50 people present, from Code Pink Austin, Veterans for Peace, Vietnam Veterans Against the War, Iraqi Veterans Against the War, and Gold Star Families for Peace, which is Sheehan's group.Among those present, rumors of pro-war, anti-protest protestors perhaps arriving later were voiced. In all, about a dozen law enforcement officers were on the scene near the Peace House. No Secret Service personnel had been identified. More later.

58. He's a coward...
He will not speak to her, he doesn't know how.

In his whole life, the closest I imagine he's ever come to regret was when he only managed to convince two of the three cheerleaders to go back to his room with him.

I hope Cindy has a line on someone to bring her and her supporters food, water, and portable lavatories... they're going to be there for a while.

- Does anyone know if they have these things?

Aside- this is a chance for ** to score some points... watch him fail.

7. NEW UPDATE - dog coming out.
1:10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6

Diebenow reporting:

We've got about 50-something people walking on the side of the road, in a ditch, all the way up the mile to the Bush ranch. At the first checkpoint, the police ordered them to not walk on the roadway, but in the medium-tall grass along the right side of the road where it is about 10 ft. wide in places, three feet deep. They are kind of straddling the roadway.

There appears to be another checkpoint up ahead, with another car in the middle of the road.

Now two big white dogs are coming out to great them. I don't know what kind of dogs they are.

It's really hot, humid, with people sweating.

Wait. Call you back in a minute

Hope this gets the coverage it deserves..and people see someone who lost a son in Iraq, who has the heart and courage of a lioness..confront that chickenhawk, in his "little piece of Heaven" while other children and parents, and sisters and brothers are dying in Iraq.

22. NEW UPDATE - They are sitting down.
1:15 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6

Diebenow reporting:

We are at the second checkpoint and the sheriff's department has told the protestors to get off the road. They've been walking on the road, breaking their part of the bargain.

Some are now sitting, waiting for Bush to come out. Now more are sitting down.

One Veterans for Peace protestor asked police officers for water because it's a hundred degrees.

Now the protestors are reciting The Lord's Prayer in unison.

(moments later)

Now Cindy Sheehan is shouting that Bush's mother ought to be ashamed of him. She's proud of her child who died in Iraq.

I now see Secret Service out here.

Protestors are saying that one of their rationales for not getting off the road was that the media was on the road. A police officer said that the media was just following them, but the media is still on the road, with cameras, booms, microphones.

Some protestors are still sitting, but more are now standing.

They are now chanting "No Justice, No Peace." "George Bush is a war criminal." "Downing Street memos prove it." "Billion dollars a week for war."

Chanting again, people on left saying "Had enough," people on right saying "Stop the war," going back and forth.

Police now telling media to get on the other side of the road and to not disrupt traffic.

Chanting still going on (time 1:20).

More coming.

38. From the Baltimor Chronicle And Sentinal

COMMENTARY:
Truth Gathers In Dallas
Crawford vs. Dallas is Fantasy vs. Reality
by Ward Reilly

It's time to open the door, Mr. President. Our nation is knocking. If you turn Gold Star families and other REAL heroes away, what is that going to tell the "free press," and what is it going to tell all those veterans who have paid the price?
And you thought that the truth was in Crawford...

This weekend in Dallas, Texas, there will be a "Truth Convention" of sorts, centered around the Veterans For Peace national meeting.

This weekend in Dallas, Iraq veterans and Gold Star families will be joining with veterans of all US wars since WWII, the members of "Veterans For Peace," as they sit just a stone's throw away from a partying-for-five-weeks CIC, George Bush, over on his ranch, entertaining the new Saudi King perhaps.

While most of the national press will have their cameras and mics pointed at Bush or Cheney, 2 men who have told more lies than the FBI, many men and women who fought in Iraq, killed in Iraq, or simply suffered in Iraq or Afghanistan, will be crying out at the tops of their voices saying WE are here! We ARE the truth! PLEASE LISTEN TO
US!

44. ONE TIN SOLDIER
ONE TIN SOLDIER
(The Legend of Billy Jack)
words and music by Dennis Lambert and Brian Potter
Copyright © 1969 by ABC / Dunhill Music, Inc.

Listen children to a story that was written long ago
'bout a kingdom on a mountain and the valley folk below.
On the mountain was a treasure buried deep beneath a stone,
and the valley people swore they'd have it for their very own.

Go ahead and hate your neighbor, go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of heaven, justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowin' come the judgment day
on the bloody morning after one tin soldier rides away.
http://www.thecolefamily.com/onetinsoldier.htm

So the people of the valley sent a message up the hill
asking for the buried treasure, tons of gold for which they'd kill.
Came an answer from the kingdom: "With our brothers we will share
all the secrets of our mountain, all the riches buried there."

Go ahead and hate your neighbor, go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of heaven, justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowin' come the judgment day
on the bloody morning after one tin soldier rides away.

Now the valley cried with anger; mount your horses, draw your sword,
and they killed the mountain people, so they won their just reward.
Now they stood beside the treasure on the mountain, dark and red,
turned the stone and looked beneath it. "Peace on earth" was all it said.

Go ahead and hate your neighbor, go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of heaven, justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowin' come the judgment day
on the bloody morning after one tin soldier rides away.

Don't you know that Dylan, Peter, Paul and Mary are just besides themselves wondering what type of sad time warped they are caught in!

Yes, 'n' how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

And I never hear Dylan played on the radio-- maybe I just
don't listen to the right stations but it makes me wonder.

50. How about "What Mother's Son"?
Edited on Sat Aug-06-05 03:04 PM by wildflower
Lyrics:

The men are off to battle
Once again across the sea
Marching for justice
And liberty
But in the name of peace and freedom
For a valiant cause we say
What mother’s son
Will lose his life today?

Chorus

What mother’s son won’t be coming home
What mother’s son will be taken by the storm
What mother’s son will be left to die alone
What mother’s son? What mother’s son?

Both sides will battle bravely
Their country wrong or right
Banners flying high
Believing in the fight
But in the name of peace and freedom
On our knees we pray
Let no mother’s son
Lose his life today

Chorus

Tears of sorrow
Tears of joy
When we birth a baby boy
Every mother lives with fear
Of what she may
Someday have to hear

Chorus

149. How many Danny Boys are in Iraq?
"Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen, and down the mountain side
The summer's gone, and all the flowers are dying
'tis you, 'tis you must go and I must bide.

But come you back when summer's in the meadow
Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow
'tis I'll be there in sunshine or in shadow
Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so.

And if you come, when all the flowers are dying
And I am dead, as dead I well may be
You'll come and find the place where I am lying
And kneel and say an "Ave" there for me.
And I shall hear, tho' soft you tread above me
And all my dreams will warm and sweeter be
If you'll not fail to tell me that you love me
I simply sleep in peace until you come to me.

43. Cindy's statement from 8/3 - she's expecting to go to jail

Dear Friends and Supporters,

George Bush said speaking about the dreadful loss of life in Iraq in August: (08/03/05): "We have to honor the sacrifices of the fallen by completing the mission." "The families of the fallen can be assured that they died for a noble cause."

In reaction to these two assinine and hurtful statements, members of Gold Star Families for Peace (GSFP) are going to George's vacation home in Crawford, Tx this Saturday, August 6th at 11:00 am to confront him on these two statements.

1) We want our loved ones sacrifices to be honored by bringing our nation's sons and daughters home from the travesty that is Iraq IMMEDIATELY, since this war is based on horrendous lies and deceptions. Just because our children are dead, why would we want any more families to suffer the same pain and devastation that we are.

2) We would like for him to explain this "noble cause" to us and ask him why Jenna and Barbara are not in harm's way, if the cause is so noble.

3) If George is not ready to send the twins, then he should bring our troops home immediately. We will demand a speedy withdrawal.

GSFP will be joined by members of Veteran's for Peace (VFP), Military Families Speak Out (MFSO), Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW), Code Pink, and Crawford Peace House.

We GSFP members will not leave until we get answers from George Bush. We deserve and expect him to welcome us with answers to as why our loved ones are dead.

Every worker for peace, every worker for justice, every person who wants our country back are welcomed to join us on Saturday. Show George Bush that we mean business. Be there to support us family members who have already been through so much. We are fighting for our country, our world, especially the children.

Crawford is about 2 hours from Dallas where the VFP Convention is being held this weekend. There will be car pools from the convention.

HONOR OUR LOVED ONE'S SACRIFICES: BRING OUR TROOPS HOME NOW!!!!

Bring water and hats...we plan on staying until we are arrested or satisfied with the answers. (I am betting on jail).

Please pass this email on to your friends, lists, and media.
For more info: call
Cindy Sheehan
707-365-7750
I will be in Dallas starting tomorrow evening.

By DEB RIECHMANN
The Associated Press
Saturday, August 6, 2005; 3:23 PM

CRAWFORD, Texas -- The angry mother of a fallen U.S. soldier staged a protest near President Bush's ranch on Saturday, demanding an accounting from the president of how he has conducted the war in Iraq.

Supported by more than 50 shouting demonstrators, Cindy Sheehan, 48, told reporters, "I want to ask George Bush: Why did my son die?"

Sheehan arrived in Crawford aboard a bus painted red, white and blue and emblazoned with the words, "Impeachment Tour."

Her son, Casey, 24, was killed in Sadr City, Iraq, on April 4, 2004. He was an Army specialist, a Humvee mechanic.

98. Anarchy 1999, please send report direct to my email, MFSO member
and following closely Cindy Sheehan and delegation to Crawford. Want to report to our Military Families Speak Out, Pacific Northwest chapter, and also chronicling for report back to Cindy. Would appreciate it much, and thank you. I correspond with Cindy personal and collaborative as MFSO member family and I'm so pleased to see the support she is getting not only at DU, but at Daily Kos where she posts diaries, and at AfterDowningStreet.org and the dem organizations that are part of AfterDowningStreet.org.

I have a blog at Pacific Northwest Portal, and I want to get a blog entry made descriptive of Cindy's Crawford confrontation. Trying to gather the updates from different sources, so would be most appreciative if you would send along your own coverage. Also have an upcoming 90 minute workshop MFSO presentation to make at Seattle Rolling Thunder event, Aug 13, and will want to address the outcome of Cindy and delegation which includes MFSO, IVAW, VFP and the others who are accompanying her.

I started a DU thread http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x1990029 to update on Cindy, and it began to dive when this thread started as LBN. That's okay, don't care which thread gains prominence, but would like to see one thread get voted to front page on DU.

Remember when Bush tried to set up "free-speech" zones for protestors at some of his events--miles away from where he was? The judge in the case stopped them in the middle of their argument and said something to the effect of--"This is the United States of America--the whole damn country is a free-speech zone."

Somebody ought to SUE that damned sheriff's department.

After some protesters left, a small group led by Sheehan vowed to stage a vigil on the side of the road until someone representing the White House came out to talk to her.

While no one from the White House immediately emerged, White House officials were aware of the protest. "We mourn the loss of every life and Americans deeply appreciate those who have made the supreme sacrifice. The way to honor that sacrifice is to complete the mission so that their lives were not lost in vain," said White House spokesman Trent Duffy.

"The president has met with hundreds of families of those fallen. He grieves with all those who have lost loved ones," he said.

At the second checkpoint, she said, "I didn't come all the way from California to stand here in a ditch."

An officer offered to send Bush a letter or a statement from Cindy Sheehan, but she said she didn't want to do that.

Her reply was that they were making the mother of a veteran of the Iraq war walk in a ditch.

Protestors are carrying signs that read "No more blood for oil," "Support our troops, bring them home now," and "Frodo failed. Bush has the ring."

It is extremely hot. People are starting to get dehydrated.

Sheehan is moving toward the ranch at the second checkpoint and says, "In the name of 1,828 soldiers that should be alive, I'm going to go see the President. He killed my son."

An officer got in her face, stopping her.

The crowd starts chanting, "W. killed her son. W. killed her son."

Bush has not come out, none of those anti-protest protesters either.

Hadi Jawad, a board member of the Crawford Peace House, shouts to the media: "Do your job. Ask about the Downing Street Memo."

After sitting in the heat waiting to interview Cindy, most members of the press start to leave. Now protestors start to leave. One says, "I guess we ought to go." It appears that the initial protest is over.

Sheehan says she is going to stay at the checkpoint. Others are bringing water to her. The idea seems to be that she intends to camp out here, but I am unsure at this point whether the authorities will allow it. The others are going back to the Peace House to regroup.

Cindy Sheehan said after the media had left, "This is the beginning of the end of the occupation of Iraq." A wild round of applause followed.

Currently, the Secret Service and the police are just hanging around. The area is beginning to look deserted except for Cindy and her small group.

3:10 p.m.

The police are giving Cindy a hard time because they won't let her set up a tent by the side of the road.

This will probably be the last dispatch for awhile

92. NEW UPDATE - Cindy tries to camp out.

181. And some iced cloths for putting around her neck
Trust me on this one. My kids played sports all summer here in Texas in heat well over 100F and a heat index of 115F just like it was today in Crawford. Those iced cloths (soak them in cold water and put them in an ice chest, covered with ice, until used) literally saved us.

Iced cloths - or just ice - around her neck or under her cap. And the shade in Texas makes a DRAMATIC difference in temperature. The sun kills. Treasure every spot of shade.

They show up in small numbers at various protests. There were maybe 50 of them in NYC, in their own free-speech zone within the big free-speech zone. NYPD patrolled the "moat" between.

but I hope she sticks this out even if they arrest her. then if necessary we get enough money to bail her out and she goes back and a few more of us join her and so on. make the last iraq war protest we have start right fucking now. don't even let the chimp get back to DC without answering cindy and the other parents that have had to survive this ordeal. her son casey is at peace but cindy gets to die each day for the rest of her life. sorry to rant but i can't fathom or accept anymore the state of things. my sorrow is incapacitating and I an ashamed in the face of the bravery of people like cindy sheehan.

P.S. even before this event I decided but this definitely cements it. I will be with you all in DC sept 23-25 looking forward to meeting a lot of my family of peace warriors i've found here.

113. update on Cindy from Celeste Zappala, also GSFP and there in Crawford
from Daily Kos; http://www.dailykos.com/hotlist/add/2005/8/6/95956/25883/displaystory//

I am in touch with Celeste Zappala...

....a GSFP member who is in touch with the folks down there and has asked me to post this here:

2:51 PM Central Time

I just spoke to Amy. They got up there and protested, as reported on the Texas Iconoclast site you gave us, Christine.

link here

The press was there, but after a while, left. Some protestors (including Amy) went to the cars to get water, lawn chairs, et cetera. It's a hundred degrees out there.

Cindy, Dede, and others did not go to the cars. Amy & others were to take the water back up to them, but the cops wouldn't let them. That's uppdated in the next paragraph.

So: as of now, Cindy & Dede, and other protestors, were out in the hot sun and cut off from water, but they are moving to an area with some shade trees, and water is being allowed in to them. Cindy has no plan to leave.

117. The red, white and blue "Impeachment Tour" bus
http://www.mysanantonio.com/sharedcontent/APStories/stories/D8BQHPC00.html

Sheehan arrived in Crawford aboard a bus painted red, white and blue and emblazoned with the words, "Impeachment Tour."

The group stopped along the way and sheriff's deputies advised them that if they wanted to go farther toward the ranch, they would have to walk in a ditch along the road.

The marchers walked about half a mile until the deputies stopped them, saying that they had violated their instructions by walking on the road itself instead of staying in the adjacent ditch.

Sheehan protested, saying she had not walked on the road. The deputies refused to let her go farther.

and making me teary. This woman is one courageous woman and we need more of these types of protests. If the MSM isn't going to cover it then we'll find another way of covering it. We'll make them cover it. It's about damned time we all got off our asses and did something - whatever we can. I am so proud to be on the side of peace.

Bush is a sniveling coward and war criminal!

146. So they send HADLEY out to talk to this woman?
HADLEY was RESPONSIBLE for those 16 WORDS in the State of the Union Address that were used as justification to LIE to Congress and the American people and get us INTO THE WAR..

THIS is a SLAP IN THE FACE to Cindy, anyone realise that?

Hadley was supposed to fall on his sword for getting those words in the SOTU address but Tenenent took the fall for Bush..

HADLEY IS the guy that killed her son, he's a Main accomplice, him and BOLTON..

This is like sending out Attila the Hun's associate executioner to comfort the beheaded.

Someone is NOT paying attention here - SHE had not been answered, she's been further INSULTED - TELL HER THAT.

CRAWFORD, Texas (AP) -- The angry mother of a fallen U.S. soldier staged a protest near President Bush's ranch on Saturday, demanding an accounting from the president of how he has conducted the war in Iraq.

Right on, Cindy!

163. NEW UPDATE - Cindy stays. Caravans on the way to her.

"In the name of 1,828 soldiers that should be alive, I'm going to see the president," said Cindy Sheehan, co-founder of Gold Star Families for Peace (center, left). "He killed my son." An hour of so later, two of Bush's aides met with her for 45 minutes; however, Sheehan vowed to stay in Crawford Saturday until she met face-to-face with the president.

If one mother of one son is using her voice to speak for us don't we owe it to her to lift her voice louder and protect her? I think we do.

188. Cindy receives warning from Secret Service
Edited on Sun Aug-07-05 01:33 AM by Barrett808
Sounds like we need to get a bunch of folks out there real quick.

Hi Brian,

I have just had a very disturbing call from Cindy- there are ten people preparing to sleep out on the side of the road, the media and police have gone, SEVERAL secret service people have stopped by to give this message

"people drive very fast on this road, somebody could run over you and you could get killed"

Cindy was frightened by this message and asked me to ask you to post it. If this were not the government of Karl Rove you could take it lightly. But sadly, it is. I told Cindy to have people take turns keeping watch, I hope the Vets will go back to stand guard.

It is hard to believe we live in these times, hard to believe we are governed by such dangerous people, and for us at GSFP hard to comprehend why we are without our sons. Thank you to everyone for your amazing support today, plesae stay with us.

Celeste Zappala
co founder, Gold Star Families for Peace
Mother of Sgt. Sherwood Baker, KIA 4/26/04-Baghdad
Sherwood was killed protecting the Iraq Survey Group as they looked for the non-existent Weapons of Mass Destruction

192. Cindy Sheehan: "The Secret Service is Trying to Intimidate Us"
Edited on Sun Aug-07-05 02:39 AM by Barrett808
Cindy Sheehan called After Downing Street moments ago at 10 p.m. ET to report that the Secret Service is trying to intimidate her and members of Gold Star Families for Peace, Iraq Veterans Against the War, and Veterans for Peace into leaving their protest near Bush's Crawford, Texas ranch.

This morning Cindy led dozens of protesters as close as they could get to the ranch; they were stopped by local police about five miles away. Cindy and others plan to stay there throughout Bush's five-week August vacation until he agrees to meet with her and other family members of soldiers killed in Iraq and answer their questions about the war.

Throughout the afternoon and evening, however, the Secret Service has been telling protesters that if they stay there they may be hit by Secret Service vehicles. Cindy says, "They've told us this at least ten times. There isn't much room between the side of the road and the fence, and they go zooming by far over the speed limit." Cindy reports the Secret Service already ran a mother and her six year-old off the road. She believes the Secret Service's actions are a clear attempt to coerce her and the other protesters into leaving.

Cindy and others are asking to meet with the Secret Service and local police to ensure the safety of everyone involved. In the meantime, she asks that anyone who can contact the media to alert them to the situation.

If you are able to do this, media contact information can be found here (http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/?q=node/1202). Please politely let them know what's been happening with the Secret Service, and encourage them to continue covering Cindy's efforts to meet with President Bush.

On thie particular road, these people are stopped, not allowed to walk on the road, because of the nazi storm troopers there won't allow it - on this road, but somehow, they won't be able to controll other traffic - especially SPEEDERS - PEOPLE OBVIOUSLY BREAKING THE LAW - as opposed to Cindy - AND THEY WON'T BE ABLE TO CONTROLL ACCESS TO SPEEDERS?!

Well there's our answer folks - get in your cars and race up and down that road at top speed - these nazi strom trooper have just given us all permission to do so!

As for "White House" comments and the play it down media... they can all take their flaggerent and murderous lies and distortions and shove it where the sun doesn't shine. The strength of the TRUTH will shine through all the murkiness, spin and lies in the end. Hopefully "what goes around comes around" does so PDQ and bites them all in the backside and HARD.

UPDATE: Priceless quote by Cindy She was telling Hadley and Hagin about Bu$h meeting with her and several other families who had lost loved ones. His behavior was horribly inappropriate! Among many other things, Bu$h would not look at Casey's pictures, would not call him by his name and called her "Mom." She said, "If I were his mom, he would behave a lot better!"

UPDATE 2: Ways to help Cindy The best way to help her is to get your body there. That is what she needs most. Other ways to help: Donate money to Crawford Peace House designated to help Cindy. They are supplying food and water, making signs and purchasing any other supplies. Write LTEs and call news media Code Pink is also providing support with food and materials so you can donate there. They are looking for more tents to put up. Code Pink is planning a hunger strike starting Monday if Bu$h has not talked to Cindy by then.

217. New here...
I have lurked here for ages, But MUST say, I was nervous to register...Big Brother is watching, You know.
Any way, I lurk a few other places, One, I am sad to say, if FR. I am reminded of the father in " Braveheart" who says..." If that don't wake you up in the mornin' boy..."
Today, I have reached a new level of disgust with that group. I try to pride myself on being open minded, look at both sides, be fair. Thats how I raise my child...
This totally disgusts me...

I wish Cindy the best....In her moment of grief, She has show herself to be a true patriot...The kind our founding fathers intended ALL of us to be...God bless her and those who support her.

"...along with another Hiroshima bomb survivor Paul Ritthaler (left), who was a U.S. Marine interred in a prison camp 75 miles from Hiroshima's ground zero. Ritthaler was accompanied last Saturday by his wife, Betty."
above is a photo caption from Iconoclast article.
Not to quibble, but Ritthaler looks remarkably healthy for someone who was buried in 1945. I suppose it should read "interned." Yah?

216.  Cindy Sheehan: Camp Casey - Peaceful Occupation of Crawford, Texas
Camp Casey
Peaceful Occupation of Crawford, Texas
Sun Aug 7th, 2005 at 14:13:38 PDT
Day One

The first day of the beginning of the end of the occupation of Iraq.

Today we went into the belly of the beast in Crawford, Texas...and lived to tell about it.

On Wednesday, August 3rd, 2005, I had a brainstorm. I was so furious about the horrible loss of life, especially from the Marine National Guard unit from Ohio. I was also so heartbroken for the families who have been wrongfully left behind. Then to top off the indignity and profanity of the needless deaths, George Bush spoke out after the deaths and said 2 things that enraged me further:

"The families of the fallen can rest assured that your loved ones died for a noble cause."

And

"We have to honor the sacrifices of the fallen by completing the mission."

The first statement is so blatantly false that it angered me for a couple of reasons. First of all, what is the noble cause? The cause changes at will when the previous cause has been proven a lie. Secondly, because many people in America, when they hear such drivel, allow themselves to be "assured." A lot of people heard that falsehood and said: "Whew, 14 Marines in one incident, that's bad, but the President said they died for a noble cause. We can get on with our consumering now"

George Bush has spewed the second filth many times and each time it upsets me more. As a mother, why would I want any other mother (American or Iraqi) to go through the same pain as I am suffering through? My son, Casey was an honorable man filled with an integrity rarely seen these days. I am sure that he would be appalled that George uses his death to justify continued killing. I am appalled that George exploits the senseless sacrifice of my family to justify his murderous policies in the Middle East. Also, does it bother anyone else that this man can take a 5 week vacation when our soldiers are suffering, dying and being maimed in Iraq? When innocent Iraqi people are being murdered everyday? When I will never be able to fully enjoy another vacation for the rest of my life?
