BAGHDAD (AFP) - Insurgents killed at least 35 people in a series of attacks throughout Iraq, while clashes between police and protestors in a poor southern Shiite town added to the day's death toll, security officials said.

Seven Iraqi soldiers were killed and 17 wounded when a suicide bomber blew up a truck at the entrance to an Iraqi army headquarters in central Tikrit, 180 kilometers (110 miles) north of Baghdad, an Iraqi army officer said.

Three other Iraqi soldiers were killed when gunmen attacked their patrol in south Baghdad, while two other people working in the oil ministry were also shot dead in southeast Baghdad.

In Samawa, at least one civilian was killed and 44 wounded as demonstrators clashed with police during a protest about lack of jobs and public services in the southern Shiite town rife with unemployment, medical sources said.

8. Ok, you're from Nebraska
Tell me how good people from what I would consider an isolationist state can support this war.

9. Why is it now one thinks that maybe the cause of the "insurgency"
is the US military occupying Iraq? The Democrats mostly keep supporting this murderous invasion. The MSM won't even consider it. I bet if the US and Haliburton was pulled out tomarrow, the insurgency could all go get jobs and make a living.
