Saddam's trial on live television
Saddam's trial on live television

The trial of Saddam Hussein will be shown on live television, Iraq's national security adviser said yesterday.

The trial will show the Arab and Muslim world "that this is going to be a fair, just trial with a defense counsel in there, with a proper prosecuting counsel as well there," Iraqi national security adviser Muwaffaq Rubaie told CNN. "And everybody will watch this trial live on television."

Earlier this month, an Iraqi tribunal filed the first charges against the deposed Iraqi leader over the 1982 killing of 143 residents of the village of Dujail, north-east of Baghdad, where he had been the target of a failed assassination attempt.

No date for his trial has yet been set.

5. I wanna see Karl Rove's trial after junior is hauled on to prison.
Dick Cheney's may be a good trial to watch if he lives through the indictment.

4. i hate that murderous bastard
yet i wonder, have we killed mor than 150 innocent Iraqies? Have we unlawfully invaded a nation? Incidents almost twenty years ago are a stretch for an invasion twenty years later. Did we invade Iraq because of the death of 150 kurds? (my apologies to any kurds reading this).

Anything that slimy skunk has done(mr. saddam) we have quadrupled.

7. Since we are gonna show the Arab and Muslim world
a fair and just trial, I am sure it won't be held in the English language right? It will be televised in the Arab and Muslim world right? No need to televise it here in the states then.

9. He he...

I think this new governement starts to think that the Americans are like a needle in their buttcheek and maybe want to spill the beans on Poppy Bush and his pro-Saddam buddies (Rumsfeld ) for doing this to the Iraqi people since the 60s.

They want EVERYONE to see it. Oh well, let's see which Iraqi governemental figure gets killed by 'terrorists' (ahem, CIA hired hitmen).
