Sheriff of Treviso Outlaws Kaftans |
|
http://www.corriere.it/english/articoli/2005/08_Agosto/08/treviso.shtml“What’s at stake here is the security of Italians. The person in the street next to you could be a suicide bomber”. The flowing tunic with its deep sleeves is far from the innocent article of clothing some claim it to be. “There could be a terrorist under every kaftan. All attempts to make fools of us have to be thwarted”.

4. Perhaps I should be able |

to find a measure of comfort in knowing that all idiot officials do not dwell in this country. Somehow, though, I find myself more and more wondering what ever happened to common sense, and common decency.
From the article, the Sheriff says, "All attempts to make fools of us have to be thwarted”. If this is the case, then he needs to resign. It is also interesting to note that clothing can be innocent or guilty, depending, I assume, on how much vino the Sheriff had with lunch.

That's just... so... brilliant. He's like a bigoted, redneck Inspector Clouseau.
Do Italians even have rednecks? I guess the do now.

7. Great - I've just been waiting for all of this shit to get over to |

Europe, too... All it takes is one more train station bombed; I predict Munich (it certainly won't be Bologna).
When they'll forbid the Burkha etc. in Germany I will start wearing it. Solemn promise.
We are in this mess together - one world government is de facto here; one world stupidity also... There won't be a one world shame after-wards, though.
People are strange and terrifying animals indeed.

11. Just to break into here with a little history |
|
In the 1950s, a lot of the Algerian separatists who planted bombs in the French held parts the country got past the French check points by having the bombs delivered by young women in western dress.
The 9/11 hijackers were all wearing Western dress and acting "normal" for Westerners.
I mean... Duh!... it's just basic if you're a spy or terrorist that you should blend in so you can get past Deputy Fife...
