Pinochet's wife and son charged

A judge has charged the wife and son of former Chilean President Augusto Pinochet as accomplices in a multi-million dollar tax fraud case.
Lucia Pinochet was detained at the military hospital in Santiago, where she has been receiving treatment.

The couple's youngest son, Marco Antonio Pinochet, is being held at a police station in the capital.

The case relates to offshore accounts where Gen Pinochet and his family allegedly hid more than $13m (£7m).

Investigating judge Sergio Munoz ordered Mrs Pinochet's arrest, having interviewed her last month for the second time in a year.
"Nobody in Chile is above the law," said Osvaldo Puccio, the government secretary general.

The hatred and death they set in motion September 11, 1973 was still raging in the 1980's. I just ran across this reference again yesterday, and it still horrifies me:

The various communications received by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights reporting that on the morning of July 2, 1986, during a protest demonstration called by groups in opposition to the Government of Chile, the youths, Rodrigo Rojas DeNegri and Carmen Gloria Quintana Arancibia, were arrested in a neighborhood of Santiago by an army patrol, searched, beaten, held within proximity of inflammable material, sprinkled with fuel, set on fire, and taken to a place on the outskirts of the city where they were unable to receive medical care, and there they were abandoned.

Even by marriage. We see that in the dynasty now holding state power in the US. No surprise that it is true of those who have served them (their predecessors) elsewhere.
