Venezuela's Chavez Blames Right for Brazil Scandal (Update1)
Aug. 12 (Bloomberg) -- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said the political opposition engineered a bribery scandal that's engulfed Brazil's ruling party, and he pledged more oil to Brazil as a sign of support for President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva.

Chavez, 51, said allegations that Lula's Workers' Party bribed lawmakers in exchange for support for government legislation came from a ``planning center'' run by the political right. Venezuela, the world's fifth-largest oil exporter, fully supports Lula, he said.

``I sense that this is a campaign by the traditional political class, specifically the Brazilian right,'' Chavez, 51, said early this morning in Brasilia after a three-hour dinner with Lula. ``It's a barrage, an attack against the president, and I believe this has to be coming from some kind of planning center here inside Brazil or, even, outside Brazil.''

As a sign of support for Lula, Chavez proposed giving Brazilian state-controlled oil producer Petroleo Brasileiro SA the right to exploit with Venezuela's state-run Petroleos de Venezuela SA one of 27 oil fields set to be explored near the Orinoco River. He said the lease may hold 50 billion barrels of reserves.

2. Yeah, I was wondering about that. And I'm glad Chavez said it. Lulu and
Brazil led the extraordinary new coalition of third world countries in revolt against global corporate predators at the WTO talks in Cancun, where exploited countries for the first time joined together and fought back. It was an amazing event. And it wouldn't surprise me in the least to find that the Bush Cartel was doing active 'black ops' (secret dossier type stuff), as well as even more nefarious plots, to destabilize Brazil and topple Lulu, as they are so obviously trying to do to Chavez (US taxpayer money used to support the oil elite's recall election against him, and relentless lying and propaganda about him from the US news monopolies!).

I think a Bush Cartel "black op" was done against California Secretary of State Kevin Shelly, whose only crime was that he had decertified Diebold's election theft machines, and sued Diebold for lying. He got driven from office on petty corruption charges that mysteriously showed up in the SF Chronicle just after he sued Diebold and just before the 2004 election. He has no money, and had no legal fund to defend himself with (tells you something about Shelley); the Dems abandoned him, and he resigned.

I'm still mind-boggled by the audacity of it. But it did open my eyes to several serious problems: 1) the corruption in the Democratic Party wrought by the billion dollar election fraud industry (it's maybe our MOST SERIOUS problem); and 2) we need some sort of 'black ops' alert system to start investigating, and start fundraising, at the first appearance of an effort to take down one of the good guys in this way.
