Study Shows Florida Leads Nation In Taser Deaths
POSTED: 12:43 pm EDT August 14, 2005

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- A newspaper report says that Florida leads the nation in Taser associated deaths with 27 over a five year period. <snip>

The report says at least 14 showed signs of excited delirium, a condition that even the maker of Taser weapons acknowledges puts people at "potentially fatal health risks" from impaired breathing. And at least 12 had heart ailments.

6. Because people are being killed and punished by cops.
It is a response that is far in excess of the actions of the deceased. Cops love tasers because it puts punishment, easily and regularly used, in their hands. There is more than enough evidence of cops using tasers indisciminantly. Cavalierly, even.

7. The article said 20 out of 27 had evidence of drug usage.

This probably put them at increased risk for complications from the taser.

11. The sad thing is that tasers are supposed to prevent deaths
from gunfire. In these cases, it didn't.

btw, my sister's an addict- I don't like your comment
