Anti-Cheney protests planned in Alberta
EDMONTON -- Environmental and anti-war groups are planning a hostile welcome for U.S. Vice-President Dick Cheney when he visits Alberta.

Alberta Premier Ralph Klein announced Friday that Cheney is set to tour the province's oilsands in the northeastern part of the province next month.

Louise Swift of Edmonton's Raging Grannies, a group most Canadians associate with demonstrations against cutbacks and privatization, says plans are already being made to protest Cheney's arrival.

2. Excellent!
I figured there would be protests planned. As soon as there is more detail as to when he is coming, I will plan my visit to Alberta.

3. That's great, Spazito...
if there was ever a time for Canada to truly establish itself on the world stage as opposed to BushCo, it's NOW! Just last week, I was reading that Canada's trade surplus increased yet again last quarter, with more of the share going to countries other than the U.S.

7. I agree, he should be in a cell at the Hague instead of visiting
Alberta and we will make sure he is told that! Canadians are furious with the bush admin right now and want our 5 billion back from them. Cheney is picking a BAD time to try and shmooze us, big time, lol.

5. Will Chaney tell Louise Swift to go (impossible act of self coitus)?
Or does he reserve such pearls of lofty rhetoric for U.S. Senators?
