cbs5.com: Schwarzenegger Responds To (Gigi) Hush Money Allegations
Schwarzenegger Responds To Hush Money Allegations
John Lobertini
Reporting

(CBS 5) Governor Schwarzenegger is responding to accusations that a tabloid publisher paid hush money to an alleged former mistress.

Published reports have suggested that American Media Inc. -- the owners of three major tabloid magazines -- bought the silence of Gigi Goyette, a woman with whom Schwarzenegger allegedly had a seven-year affair.

"Did they cover up an alleged affair?" Schwarzenegger said Monday. "Not that I know of. You'll have to ask them."

American Media reportedly paid Goyette $20,000 for the exclusive rights to her story two days after Schwarzenegger declared his candidacy for governor, but the account never made it to print. An unidentified employee told the Los Angeles Times that Schwarzenegger was "important to their bottom line."

Schwarzenegger later signed an $8 million consulting contract with American Media, designed to lure readers and advertisers to two muscle magazines. That relationship was later questioned because muscle magazines receive millions in advertising from the makers of dietary supplements, and Schwarzenegger as governor has and will again be faced with approving or rejecting laws that regulate the supplement industry....

1. That's the stupidest reply on his part.
Surely he could come up with something better than that.

2. Maybe he can't...
'cause he doesn't want to utter a lie that might be used against him in court.

11. Yes it is and it goes to show their hypocrisy once again
It wasn't just lying about a blowjob that got Clinton in so much trouble it was his unfaithfulness to his wife and family. The cry from the right was if his own wife can't trust him hoiw can the nation trust him. Remember the meme was "It's all about Character" A man who would cheat on his wife is not worthy was their cry. Funny how quiet they have become on this issue.

4. I Really Wonder If Those KIds Of His Catch Hell For Being Fat
Excuse the off-subject post but with La Cadaver for Mom and Mr. Kids Physical Fitness for dad I really for sorry for those two chunky girls of his -- I picture them living the Christina Crawford life, bigtime!!

Yeah Gigi Goyette, cripes, everybody's known about her for ages. With Arnie's famed "eating's not cheating" comments it's totally feasible that they had an oral-only relationship that he considered "not cheating."

Some Euro guys are like that -- they think oral sex is a whore/mistress thing and not a wife thing! Ahem that's what they tell me that is...!

9. CNN covering this right now, Tuesday a.m. --
Laurence Leamer (wrote book on Arnold) says Gigi originally thought when she got the money she was to be quiet during the gubernatorial campaign (and then tell story?), but she's supposed to stay quiet.

12. Do I understand all the details correctly?
American Media, Inc. agreed to pay Schwarzenegger a percentage of revenue worth about $8 million.

American Media, Inc. paid Schwarzenegger's mistress of seven years, Gigi Goyette, $20,000 for the "exclusive rights" to her story which they never ran and hold the legal right to hinder any other media from running.

Schwarzenegger later vetoed legislation that would have provided consumers of dietary supplements important health information but which would have crippled American Media, Inc.'s advertising revenue.

When asked whether American Media, Inc. covered up the Schwarzenegger-Goyette affair, Schwarzenegger said "Not that I know of. You'll have to ask them."

If Schwarzenegger is denying the affair, wouldn't he have to know one way or the other if he actually participated in the seven year affair? If Schwarzenegger isn't denying the affair, shouldn't he stop referring to it as an "alleged affair"? Does long term steroid abuse cause one to have seven year extra-marital affairs which one cannot recall?
