Just 43% of American adults now approve of the way George W. Bush is performing his role as President. Fifty-five percent (55%) disapprove.

The President's Approval Rating has fallen to 47% among those who are married. Just 38% of unmarried respondents give the President their approval. Forty-six percent (46%) of Investors Approve along with 41% of non-Investors.

1. Remember the Rassmussen rule on polling
X-5=Real Bush approval rating.

Rasmussen is a known GOP apologist.

15. Hmm? They're right on the mark with the other current polling.
Actually, they're LOWER than the recent polling.

25. Guess
That's because this is the most recent, and his real approval keeps dropping like a rock.

(OK, so I'm an optimist.)

2. Tell me why it isn't 2% approve to 98% disapprove?
It is just baffling to me, how people are so easily suckered.
They really want to be lied to and shit on. Jaysus.

5. People are so busy working
Edited on Wed Aug-17-05 06:41 PM by Justyce
2 and 3 jobs to just make ends meet that they don't have much time to keep up with the latest news (which of course you have to research on your own to get the truth anyway...) But on second thought, I suppose the Republicans like it that way -- keep the citizens struggling to survive so they don't have the time or energy to pay attention or do anything about it.... It always amazes me how LITTLE the people I talk to know about what's going on.

Edited to add: A lot of people don't seem to notice until something directly impacts their lives -- that's starting to happen now with job losses, gas prices, Medicare cuts, etc., so maybe more people will finally start to question what's going on....

7. You are absolutely correct
about their means and motives.
There are certainly lots of stupid people in this country, but there are even more who are ignorant (for the reasons you outlined)

20. Know Plenty of Republicans More Fed-Up Then One Would Think
All summer long... lost track and when they're fuming, shew... they can go on and on. Just my opinion, but it's got to be way, way lower then these polls. At least 2 our of every 100 (all occupations, many very high-up intellects to blue-collar), easy.

11. I'm baffled, too.
Protesting today, I met two people who have swallowed the Bush bull hook, line, and sinker. One of them thinks Iraq is responsible for 9/11.

He also thought we got freedom of speech from fighting wars instead of the 1791 first amendment to the Constitution.

14. Bush Postage Stamp not Sticking
Edited on Wed Aug-17-05 10:10 PM by Barkley
The US Postal Service has created a stamp with a picture of President
George W. Bush to honor his first term achievements.

In daily use it has been shown that the stamp is not sticking to envelopes.

This has enraged the President, who demanded a full investigation.

After a month of testing, a special presidential commission has made the following three findings:

1) The stamp is in perfect order.
2) There is nothing wrong with the applied adhesive.
3) People are spitting on the wrong side.

23. Yes.
It's easy for the Bush Sycophants to "go with the flow" when things are doing OK. But when the whole system starts to break down, watch out.

My, how quickly they turn.

You know what would be really funny? If the BushBots decided that O'Really, Limburger, Savage and all the other RW Spouters were actually to blame for their 'Reversal of Fortune'.

What if they decided to go after them? Wouldn't that be justice.

19. 21% Strongly Approve?!?!
Who are these people? Will they ever see what a rotten sack of shit this guy really is?

Geeze * could call a press conference in front of the White House, endorse Adolph Hitler, shoot someone in the face, cut a baby's throat and drink the blood, all while having sex with a sheep and these people would still love him.

What a godly man he is! He spreads the word of jesus! That baby was a liberal anyway!

21. Yeah, but 41% "Strongly Disagree"
When you consider that over 58 million people voted for him only 10 months ago, we're making progress.

"Who are these people?"

These are the folks who watch Fox News daily
and believe it.
