Bolivian Leader Welcomes Medical School Graduation in Cuba
Background:

Rumsfeld was in neighboring Paraguay a couple of days ago visiting US troops stationed there for counter-terrorism, at least that's what they are being funded for. Rumsfeld accused Fidel and Chavez of de-stabilizing Bolivia and accused Evo Morales's MAS as not being a legitimate political party.

Bolivian Leader Welcomes Medical School Graduation in Cuba

La Paz, Aug 18 (Prensa Latina) Bolivia's Movement Toward Socialism (MAS) leader Evo Morales highlighted Thursday the first graduation from the Latin American School of Medicine in Cuba as proof of the Island's policy of solidarity.

Morales told Prensa Latina he regretted not being able to attend the graduation ceremony later this week due to MAS electoral campaign obligations, as he has to take part in the candidate selection process.

The MAS leader stressed that despite the US blockade, Cuba provides more solidarity than any other country in the health care field, something for which everyone should be grateful to President Fidel Castro.

Morales said this conduct deserves to be recognized and congratulated and should be emulated in all Latin America.

He recalled that in this first graduation there are about fifty Bolivians whom he met with when he had a knee operation in Cuba.

They have been very well trained, with an ethics of solidarity that has nothing to do with profit, so they will be of great relief to all of the poor communities they come from, where they will work when they return home, he said.

1. Chavez, Castro, Morales, da Silva....
My, my, things seem to be getting out of hand in the hemispheric backyard, so to speak. The CIA would NEVER have allowed this, back in the day. It gives me hope for the Americas.

3. " .. ethics of solidarity that has nothing to do with profit ..!"
Separating the practice of medicine from the extraction of profit. An idea whose time has come! Even my brother, a top gastro-radiologist in Atlanta who probably pulls in $600,000/year+, agrees. But, then again, he is gay and, like me, a total lefty!
