Rebels kill six Iraqis, kidnap five including Turkish engineer
BAGHDAD (AFP) - Rebels killed six Iraqis, including three policemen and kidnapped five, including a Turkish engineer.

Two police commandos were shot dead by gunmen in the western Baghdad neighbourhood of al-Ameriyah, an interior ministry source said Sunday.

Another policeman was killed as he came under fire from gunmen in al-Shuhada neighbourhood, east of Samarra, 125 kilometers (80 miles) north of Baghdad, local police said.

In a separate incident in Samarra, Farid Jabouri, an Iraqi interpreter, was shot dead by gunmen as he travelled to work, police said.

1. Yes, it actually calls them "rebels"
That's a step.

If the media ever start referring to our troops as the invaders . . . Well, it probably won't happen.

2. I would prefer "murderers" over "rebels"
Because that's what they do: they murder people.

5. You think? And what does that make US soldiers? Or any soldiers,

10. I think that

you have drunk the kool-aid that makes some equate the insurgants with the American minutemen of the Revolutionary War. It's other effect is to make one unable to understand how somebody else can be simultaneously anti-Iraqi War AND anti-Iraqi insurgant (and pro-US troop.)

These insurgants are not "freedom fighters"; they are murderous thugs who want to grab power of their own in Iraq, nothing more.

Does US have any right to be in Iraq at all?
So, WTF are you talking about?
The insurgents want power? So, WTF does US want?

12. What does that have to do with the points I'm making?
Iraqi insurgants murder Iraqi civilians -- and that's justified because we invaded Iraq?

Have you thought through your position?

3. It would be interesting to see them call the Iraqis who side with
the Occupation Force as traitors to their country.

6. more likely some faction or other
people are getting murdered left and right in Baghdad, and it has nothing to do with the insurgency, other than the fact that the insurgency has the security forces tied up so all the other violence is spiraling out of control.
