Autopsies: Greece Passengers Died on Impact (What Happened?)
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2005/08/21/international/i123000D13.DTL

Autopsies on 118 bodies recovered from the Aug. 14 plane crash near Athens show all passengers and crew died on impact, a chief state coroner said Sunday.

<snip>

Investigators are examining reports that the plane's pilots were incapacitated by a possible loss of cabin pressure, but have not determined precisely what went wrong on the flight before it crashed.

<snip>

"The fact that the plane crashed and was not shot down is proven by data from flight recorders and the ammunition checks made on the F-16s ... An explosion in the air would have spread the wreckage over a much wider area," Voulgarakis was quoted as saying by the Chora newspaper.

"If this incident had taken place during the Olympics, the chances of it being shot down would have been extremely high."

On Saturday, state-run NET television reported that tests on traces of blood found in the wreckage have indicated that a flight attendant who reportedly received flight training was in the cockpit when the Boeing 737-300 slammed into a mountain north of Athens. The 25-year-old attendant's father said he believed his son died trying to save the flight.

1. It is amazing that people who were "frozen solid" lived that long
So much for the "frozen solid" story that people seemed so keen to believe a few days ago. It must have been a horrible experience anyway.

2. The "frozen solid" theory was based on the story of
one guy, who claimed his relative text-messaged him from the plane that they were all freezing to death. That turned out to be false, and the guy was arrested. Clearly, if they were alive on impact, they were not frozen at all.

3. Boy whose lungs showed soot??
What happened to that report? Read a few days ago that a boy's lungs were axamined and shown to have breathed in soot from the fire, thus decided he was still breathing after impact.

8. And this seems to be one of those times.
The initial reports of frozen bodies were not correct.

12. Why, yes it was. Please repeat so the point gets made...
The plane that went down in PA on 9-11 was spread over a large area.

The wreckage of the plane in Greece was NOT spread over a large area, therefore no explosion...

Now, about that plane wreckage in PA...
