Specter Plans to Probe 'Judicial Activism'
WASHINGTON - Senate Judiciary Chairman Arlen Specter plans to use the confirmation of Supreme Court nominee John Roberts to criticize what he calls the high court's judicial activism, saying Tuesday that justices have started acting as a "super legislature."

"I am concerned about the Supreme Court's judicial activism which has usurped congressional authority," Specter, R-Pa., said in a letter to Roberts, who will face senators' questions at his confirmation hearing on Sept. 6.

Maybe he should start with Bush v. Gore...

1. baldguy, THANKS! Amazing what a 58% disapprove will kick up.
Specter is the last guy I'd want on my case. Afterall, he was the Warren Commission attorney, nobody can mess with him too much, he "knows" things we'd all like to know.

Kick ass Arlen and remember the people who are anti science and anti compassion.

Enough already STEM CELL RESEARCH NOW -- solve the problem by intense research, well funded and free of politics.

8. That's right...the guy is like a mini-series. You never know what
he'll do but you know he'll apply some serious intelligence. I hated what he did with Hill but Bork, my God, he was a star. I think that his illness has sparked a relization that his party would rather see him suffer and die than live based solely on the need of the party to stay consistent on this crazy concept of "life."

I'd like to see him lose his temper, for real. Now that would be fun.
