Top Venezuela Diplomat Says U.S. Reaction Leaves Doubt After Call for
Chavez to Be Killed (rest of headline)
http://ap.tbo.com/ap/breaking/MGBSMYELUCE.html

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) - Venezuela's foreign minister criticized the U.S. government for stopping short of condemning remarks by religious broadcaster Pat Robertson that the United States should assassinate Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.

Foreign Minister Ali Rodriguez said at a meeting in Bariloche, Argentina, on Thursday that the U.S. reaction had been "a bit strange," according to a Foreign Ministry statement issued in Venezuela.

"There has been no forceful condemnation by the United States as everyone expected," Rodriguez said, according to the statement.

He also said Robertson's comments were clearly a crime of incitement but that no legal proceedings have been opened in the United States.

1. Yep.
I just got done posting in another thread about how weak the statement released by the bush**administration is.

I think, though, that Venezuelan officials were expecting this kind of hubris from bush*inc. This will draw a lot of support to Venezuela and other nations that are being bullied by the bush** junta.

bush** is not only dividing American, he is also dividing the world.

2. Rescue is slowly coming from outside of our borders.
I've been repeating that the rest of the world will make the changes we aren't willing to do for ourselves. I just hope we grow up before the responses we get are more serious.

6. Your right but they are screwing up all the diplomacy
and great achievments of the past so badly that its possible that this time when they are thrown out of office they won't come back. They have royally fucked up the world without a doubt. They have done more damage than Bin Laden could have ever hoped to do. And we'll be dealing with the results for years to come. But more power to South America for breaking away from our sorry asses. We gave them Kissinger, Pinochet, Enron in Argentina and silently murdered many of thier leaders. What do we expect?

7. I hope you're right that they get thrown out of office,
but there may still be too many large numbers of Right-WingNut-Fundie-Nut-Jobs
that are still on their side.
They think that God will forgive them of anything that they do and
they will be safe when the "rapture" comes to take them away from World War III.:eyes:

But I'm glad that South America and their allies are resisting
this "One World Government-New World Order" shit that DictatorBush and Poppy
are trying to force on them and everyone else, and I hope that they continue to do so!

4. A layman's interpretation:
"We really agree with Reverend Robertson's statement about assassinating your president".

"We are really petrified that your Chavez is going to give oil contracts to other countries, like China or India".

"If we keep a threat hanging over his head, he might be terrified and cower in fear of us".

"Fear is the only thing that keeps you South Americans in line, so we're going to keep the pressure on".
