Chalabi aide says Iraq has charter, others demur

BAGHDAD, Aug 27 (Reuters) - A spokesman for Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Chalabi said negotiators had clinched a deal with backing from all main sectarian and ethnic groups on a draft constitution early on Saturday.

But others involved in the negotiations, including the speaker of parliament Hajim al-Hassani, told Reuters there was no such agreement. Chalabi's spokesman Entifadh Qanbar told Reuters that Sunni leaders had agreed a compromise proposal. Chalabi is a leading secular Shi'ite.

Chalabi, not telling the truth? NO WAY! </sarcasm>

1. It's actually comical
and tragic at the same time. The US's puppet for invasion turns out to be a traitorous liar about everything he stated were reasons to invade a sovereign nation.
After being found covorting with the administration's new favorite enemy (Iran), he somehow gets a government position.
And yet everything that comes out of his mouth is a huge lie.
How is this possible that the US hasn't cut this asshole loose? There are men in Gitmo who have done less damage to the "War on Terrorism."

:wow:

2. Why cut him loose?
He is saying what they want to hear.

3. Is Chalabi throwing a curveball?
Or just the usual beanball?
