Army Worker Suspect in Possible DNA Deceit
WASHINGTON -- The Army is investigating allegations that a civilian forensic examiner at the Army Criminal Investigation Laboratory at Fort Gillem, Ga., falsified DNA test results.

The allegations, if true, would throw into doubt hundreds of criminal cases dating back at least a decade.

The examiner on June 2 admitted making a false entry on a control sample used during one DNA examination, and the laboratory is now reviewing 479 or more cases the accused examiner has worked on since he began in 1995, according to an announcement Friday by the Army Criminal Investigation Command, or CID.

The Fort Gillem lab is the only Army facility that performs forensic examinations in support of military criminal cases. It provides services to all military investigative agencies and is the only accredited full-service crime lab in the federal government outside the FBI.

1. The stories of our military just keep flowing in. We pay taxes to be
defended, instead we have billions of dollars missing-just poofed, billions spent without sound accounting, lies from the top person and on many levels down, torture-torment of prisoners, animal treatment of prisoners, international treaties being broken, a military that laughs at the world, an unethical recruitment department, disregard of soldiers ailments, lying to soldiers about their problem and their care, reduced medical funding, absent equipment, insufficient staffing for war and protection of our precious young.

And now we have corrupted and criminal handling of DNA by the forensic units?

I don't think we're getting our money's worth. I think this regime is killing our country.

since this dates back to 1995? He was investigated and uncovered by the Bush regime. Or perhaps the guy is simply a bad apple and whoever is president is irrelevant?

7. Didn't you just blame the Bush regime?
Or am I reading this wrong?

My only point is that not everything bad that happens is Bush's fault - there are shades of grey.

8. I am blaming the military and I always blame this regime. And I don't
give Clinton a pass on everything. There is not enought out yet about this DNA stuff, but the military in itself is becoming a terrorist organization as far as its policies on the citizens and especially on the soldiers and vets. And both when we have a homelss, slightly or seriously deranged vet sleeping in the alleys and/or shooting up - it is a war against the people and the vet.

The military has taken over this country in cooperation with right wing politicians and the corporations. They are a tight parnership.

Are you tying Clinton to the DNA event? If yes, I can't answer, I don't have enough info yet.

In the end, we all know that Clinton was exoriated by the military brass every single minute he was in office. The Pentagon had their pimps on TV every day concocting and blaming everything from Lee to Bosnia on Clinton.*

On the other hand, we know that Clinton was not to blame for any military close downs and size in the early 90's because we know that they had many meetings and total agreement on closings. But, the press and the military pimps started blaming Clinton in 2004 for the shortages in Iraq while everyone knows that Rumsfeld thought he could bomb a little and be welcomed with rose petals and didn't consider any contingencies - the essential ingredient in any plan.

Yes, I blame the military because they are one and the same with the regime. (I'm talking brass, ceo's of their favorite profit making friends, the stockholders of those companies, and all the politicians who had a little something shoved into their pocket).

Army lab launches probe of DNA tests

By ROBERT BURNS
The Associated Press

WASHINGTON — The Army is investigating accusations that a civilian forensic examiner at the Army Criminal Investigation Laboratory at Fort Gillem, Ga., falsified DNA test results.

The accusations, if true, would throw into doubt hundreds of criminal cases dating back at least 10 years.

The examiner on June 2 admitted making a false entry on a control sample used during one DNA examination, and the laboratory is reviewing 479 or more cases the examiner has worked on since he began in 1995, according to an announcement yesterday by the Army Criminal Investigation Command.

The examiner was suspended from duty in May after the accusations surfaced. His name was not released.
