Gov. Bush warns residents of gas shortages

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -- Governor Jeb Bush is warning Florida could see shortages of gasoline in coming days as a result of Hurricane Katrina.

The hurricane roared through the nation's major gas refineries and shut down production of thousands of oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico.

Bush says Florida has worked with the US Department of Energy and the Petroleum Industry to bring significant supplies of gasoline into the state's ports.

...

Bush blames oil companies for keeping lower inventories than they have in the past and that makes shortages more likely. But Mica says the oil industry has produced record amounts of petroleum each of the last three years and that global demand has also increased to record levels.

3. He's working on being the president by blaming everyone else.

2. Is this like a disaster-forced strike?
If there is no gas, how can people get to their jobs?

4. Gee, maybe a petroleum based economy isn't such a great idea.
Especially when there's no gas.

Consider this training for Peak Oil.

6. My husband's uncle already thought of the likelihood of shortages
from loss of production and lossof access because of roads. Smart guy. Plans ahead really well. Should have been an engineer.

7. Maybe Jeb
should tell his brother to stop flying and driving around with his buddies and conserve on gas.

8. Jeb is a real pro, not like his bubbling brother.
Jeb made out like a bandit on the S&L ripoff and we paid for it in billions of tax dollars. Supercrook.
