Fats Domino Found in New Orleans
Edited on Thu Sep-01-05 08:13 PM by Must_B_Free
One of rock 'n' roll's chief architects has been rescued from the rubble of New Orleans.

Fats Domino, who had been unaccounted for in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, was plucked from the flooded city by a helicopter late Thursday. He was reported to be in good condition.

An APB went out for the musician and his family earlier in the day.

Wow, I've avoided these Fats Domino threads because I thought he died a long time ago. I thought it was a gruesome grave-robbing story.

11. Good news! But there's also bad news --
Songwriter Alan Toussaint is also missing. They think he's in the Superdome, but that's not substantiated in the article.

12. one piece of good news!!!
I was lucky enough to see Fats at Jazz Fest 1980, on the riverboat and also at the Fairgrounds. Will I ever see a Jazz Fest again?

17. Will you ever see a Jazz Fest again? Not if Denis Hastert can help it
He's said that it doesn't make sense to rebuild NO. I'm sure that if you asked the fat creep he'd tell you that all the music you need is John Ashcroft's horrid off key gospel caterwauling.

25. Fats has to be the most alive dead person I know...
Went to see him in concert in 1988 in West Palm Beach and he was so ill that he canceled the show and the Four Tops filled in for him. Shortly after that we heard that he had passed away and we toasted him and his music and spent an evening reminiscing about his songs.

Honestly, I thought this thread was in extremely bad taste, but after searching around on the net, I have not found one site indictating that he has died. Apparently, he is alive and enjoying his rescue.

I am very happy for him, but at the same time, this is just a little creepy.
