2. Unless I'm reading this wrong, the numbers are going the WRONG way
All in all, considering the costs to the United States versus the benefits to the United States, do you think the war with Iraq was worth fighting, or not?

Aug. 2005 Jun. 2005 Dec. 2004
Is making progress 48% 48% 44%
Is not making progress 50% 51% 49%

All those numbers are going in the wrong direction. Are you telling me more people think the war was worth fighting NOW than did in June?

10. I think you're probably right, but I can't find a supporting link.
I have seen that website reverse numbers from time to time in the past.

6. Yeah, well let them take this poll today
I'm willing to bet the trend would turn sharply in the other direction.

9. The people are confused about the war
Many of them still believe that Iraq was involved in 9/11. It would be hard for people that believe such nonsense to grasp that they were lied to into a costly war.

12. You have a point
but does $3+ a gallon gasoline hit these people where it matters most - in the pocketbook?

13. $3 or $4 a gallon of gas still does not generate the proper response
Edited on Mon Sep-05-05 11:28 AM by IndianaGreen
People think only of their own pocketbooks without stopping to think that their relatively small pain is part of the great harm that Bush has done to our country.

14. We will see
when the post-Katrina/$3-$4 gas set of polls comes out. People might be pissed enough with Bush for the country to turn that corner we have all been waiting for so long.

8. "Regret" ????
Interesting choice of words...

What about those of us who were out in the streets protesting this war 6 months before it even started? And 2 months before it started? And the day it started? And another dozen or so times since then?

No regrets here.

16. This poll was taken August 28, before Katrina.
Support for the war should plummet in polls taken after Katrina.
