Jazz benefit for New Orleans (Norway)
Jazz benefit for New Orleans

Jazz lovers in Oslo will gather in the streets this weekend to raise funds and show their sympathy for victims of the hurricane and floods in New Oleans.

The New Orleans Workshop Jazz Club and the Oslo Jazz Festival, in cooperation with the culture hall Gamle Logen and the Norwegian Seaman's Church will arrange both a street parade and a concert in the capital on Saturday.

Some of Norway's most well-known jazz musicians and brass bands will take part in the fund-raising event.

Many of them have been in the areas hard hit by the flooding, and have friends and musician colleagues there. They say they simply want to try to give something back.

My Dr. just got back from a 2 week trip of that whole region. He said they are so far ahead of us in every way. He was very impressed with how very kind and calm they are. Thumbs up to them and their help!

6. I listened to some fine jazz and classical piano in Bergen (old town),
in 1972. Lassa, are you still there?

They love American jazz in Norway! Some of the most hospitable, justice-minded and far-thinking people on earth.
