Sen. Salazar Wants FEMA Director Fired

(AP) WASHINGTON At least one member of Colorado's congressional delegation is calling for the ouster of federal disaster official Michael Brown.

Democratic Senator Ken Salazar said Brown had 36 hours notice of the devastation Hurricane Katrina could cause, but waited until 5 hours after the storm made landfall before asking his boss to send rescue support workers.

Salazar is asking President George Bush to fire Brown, blaming the director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency for inexcusable inaction before the storm, and an ineffective response later.

The freshman senator even went so far as to blame the suspected deaths of "thousands of people" on FEMA's failure to do something ahead of time.

2. Good For Him
I'm from Colorado, and I sent letters to both him and Sen Allard yesterday. I'm pretty sure that prick Allard won't do anything.

7. Senator Salazar votes Republican all the way. He should look in mirror.
FEMA director also needs fired along with Salazar's friend Michael Chertoff.

8. Salazar is a piece of shit.
Explain voting yes on the bankruptcy bill.

It took him 2 months to reply to my email. It was the standard set of Republican talking points, all responsability, nothing about usury laws, nothing about predatory practices, nothing about people using their cards because of health issues.

Fire some political appointee who is just going to be replaced by people even less qualified than him? Big deal.

Try doing something that actually represents what we voted him in for.
