New Orleans Evacuees Leaving Houston Astrodome, Mexican Troops Bring Aid
http://www.voanews.com/english/2005-09-08-voa2.cfm

By Greg Flakus
Houston, Texas
08 September 2005

In another development here in Texas, the Mexican army is crossing the border to bring help to New Orleans and its stranded citizens. This is the first time Mexican military troops have crossed into Texas since 1846, during the war between the United States and Mexico that resulted in Mexico losing the vast area now known as the American southwest. The Mexican soldiers will not be armed and the 35 trucks in the convoy will be loaded with blankets, water, food and mobile kitchens."

1. Just for your "entertainment"
Many Texans are *horrified* at that bit of news.

Most enjoyable moment I've had in over a week. I told a colleague: "don't forget to say thank you!" (he's quite the "lock up those borders!!!!man")

I'm delighted. Thank you Mexico!!!!!

6. Imagine that - ANOTHER Third World country sending aid.
We should be ashamed of ourselves for doing such a poor job that they even have to CONSIDER sending us their meager contribution. They need those supplies desperately themselves.

16. My exact overwhelming same thoughts! How can we?
I do not begrudge the displaced from enjoying this generosity but to burden poor countries like this is just bizarre to my mind. Are we not ashamed?

13. Yeah...they might take a liking to the "hospitality"...
...since they're "underpriviliged" and would "do better" crammed into a sports arena.

18. U.S. Armed Forces shitting diamonds right now...
because word is going to work it's way around that american troops were PREVENTING aid convoys from getting into Luisiana. Think about what this means to the sailors on the USS Bataan that were not allowed to assist NOLA as they sat offshore for two days.

Bush is toast.
