Bush: Congress Should Weigh Preparedness

NEW ORLEANS - President Bush said Monday Congress should examine whether the United States is prepared to handle another disaster in the wake of a government response to Hurricane Katrina.

"All of us want to learn lessons," Bush said as he got his first exposure to the on-the-ground leadership of his new hurricane relief chief. The federal response to the disaster has been roundly criticized as sluggish and inept.

2. "All of us want to learn lessons..."
He sounds like a first-grader...sheesh.

It's pathetic: after five and a half years, SpongeBush Dumbass still requires On-The-Job Training? Our Pretzeldent is still on the learning curve?

:wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:

"Congress should examine whether the US is prepared..."
Deny, obsfucate, shift the blame. Repeat.

3. "all of us"
"learn". Better next time. Someone should simply ask just exactly why he is entitled to this crude evasion before during and now after his failed responsibility?

Is God entitled? Not when he hurts you personally perhaps, but just maybe someone might think so even then. But Bush? When he parses his word like Al Capone? Come on, really. I mean, really.

4. Even * wonders if we are prepared to handle another disaster.
Pass the buck to the Congress, let them sort it all out. What a shining example of leadership displayed by Dubya!

Let's hope those terrorists don't hear about the President questioning our disaster preparedness.

5. What he probably means is they want martial law everywhere.
So they can be "prepared" for every eventuality.

7. Bush Vows a `Sober Look' at Federal Katrina Response
Sept. 12 (Bloomberg) -- Federal authorities outlined plans to temporarily house Hurricane Katrina survivors in trailers as President George W. Bush promised to take ``a sober look'' at how emergency agencies reacted after the storm.

The president, making his third tour of the U.S. Gulf Coast region in the two weeks since the Katrina hammered Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama, said in New Orleans this morning that every citizen of the affected areas will get aid.

Responding to criticism that the federal government moved too slowly in the immediate aftermath of Katrina, the president vowed that Congress and the administration will ``take a sober look at the decision-making that went on.''

are going to investigate themselves. Terrific!! Looking back on how honest they have been in the past about everything, I have no problem with that. He must think we are so stupid.

18. He is not going to be sober.
He's going to bring in some folks who can stay off the sauce for a couple of hours to write a fictional account of how "Massa really did do everything to save his slaves. But darn it, those (choose your own racial slur) just did not have the good sense to come in out of the rain."

19. Bush vows whitewash of inadequate federal response to Katrina.
Similar to the pre-war intelligence report, of course. This should be a totally independent investigation, but the United States is not a democracy, thus leaders are not held accountable.

I knew there was trouble as soon as I saw Karl Rove getting off the plane at Bush's first visit to the disaster zone.

Is Bush capable of crapping on his own without Rove being there to wipe his ass?

34. Are those the trailers Trent Lott couldn't get delievered from Georgia?
Lott said he has been trying to get FEMA to send 20,000 trailers "sitting in Atlanta" to the Mississippi coast, and he urged President Bush during a meeting Monday to intervene. He said FEMA has refused to ship the trailers until contracts are secured.
