Talabani: Iraqis 'Will Never Forget' Bush

WASHINGTON — Iraqi President Jalal Talabani (search), in his first visit to the White House, thanked President Bush for U.S. support and said "we will never forget what you have done for our people."

Bush and Talabani were speaking to reporters following a closed-door meeting in the Oval Office (search).

"We will set no time table for withdrawal," Talabani said as part of his opening remarks, although he said he hoped that by the end of 2006 Iraqi forces would be in solid shape.

...

"As Iraqis stand up, Americans will stand down and when the mission is completed, Americans will come home," Bush said.

1. "Iraqis Will Never Forget Bush"
Of course not. Billions of dollars being spent to provide them with everything new and plenty of protection....hell,no wonder they are thanking the idiot. They know they are dealing with a sucker.

20. I am sure they won't. It's best for Bush if they did. The ex-pats are
surely pushing this. I believe that the majority of Iraqis will always remember Bush but not with favor.

3. Iraqis will never FORGIVE Bush more accurately
especially when women are stuck in abayas (sp) or burkas and not allowed to work or marry/divorce/move about freely.

Thanks, big yankee buddy ...

4. Hmmm...I wonder what they'll never forget?
How many innocents he killed? How he decimated their infrastructure and cities? How he unleashed insurgents throughout the country? How he stole their oil? Ruined their monuments, museums, and other cultural icons? How he made their day to day lives a living hell? How he eliminated women's rights?......

Yep, I agree. They'll never forget Bush if they stay alive long enough to remember him.

7. I wonder if Talabani will remember Bush
After the Islamic clerics in Iran take control over Iraq by using Al-Sistani's group who control Iraq's government.

14. does he mean, "iraqis will never forget what you did TO our people"?
Just wondering, cuz I think outside of the folks that now have political jobs and money thanks to Bush, the rest of the Iraqis aren't exactly ready to erect any statues of Bush anytime soon. I'm sure thousands of Iraqis would have remembered Bush, had he not had them killed.

19. that' really the point.
Our "liberation" now occupation has bred a generation that will not forget, nor their children, and it ain't gonna get better. Still no dancing in the streets, still no flowers for troops. What they won't forget is their fear, loathing, and hatred for us.

Boy, * really, really, screwed this one up. It's hard to sell the good old USA by blowing people up.

the world will never forget Hitler.

I believe that Iraqs are being killed at a higher rate than under Saddam. Indeed, they will not forget.

Cheers
