WASHINGTON (AP) - Former Secretary of State Colin Powell on Tuesday was named chairman of the board of the Eisenhower Fellowships, a program designed to assist emerging leaders around the world.

Powell replaces a predecessor as secretary of state, Henry Kissinger. Powell, a former board member of the program, will assume his new duties in May 2006, the program announced.

Then we have Saddam whom he helped out in the 80's, and those pesky little missiles that wound up in Tehran with Powell's participation. He has a wildly successful track record in this regard.
