Top CIA official to quit sooner over Goss dispute

A senior official in the CIA's espionage branch will leave earlier than announced because of a dispute with CIA Director Porter J. Goss on reforms within the agency's spying branch, Bush administration officials said yesterday.

Robert Richer, the associate deputy director of operations, the No. 2 official in the CIA's clandestine service, had planned to retire from the agency effective November, according to a recent announcement to agency employees by Mr. Goss.

However, Mr. Richer now will enter the agency's retirement transition program within two weeks, said officials, who declined to be named.
A CIA spokesman refused to comment.

Mr. Richer told associates earlier this week that he decided to enter the transition program earlier because of concerns about the CIA leadership.

3. So what are Goss' CIA "reforms" that Richer couldn't stomach?
You don't rise to #2 in DO unless you have a pretty hard shell. Something very over the line is being carried out. Anyone care to speculate on that?

4. I think we are beginning to find enough people to set up our own

country. I am the biggest critic of the CIA, but we will need CIA people to find out what Goss, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Sharon are doing.

I want a divorce from the right wing. Their country is getting smaller as the admin approval ratings plummet.

They will need a professional army who loves to kill.
Their constitution has already been written by the Federalist Society.
The Reverends will have their way and they will all have one big happy familty called

.......THE BORN AGAIN STATES IN NORTH AMERICA AND PARAGUAY.

They can announce any imperialistic plunder they wish on anyone they want and we can join the rest of the world in asking what the heck they are doing.

6. porta, damn, this is a lot of work, goss...
was basically, a terrible choice for head of the CIA and I believe long time spooks are seeing that the guy has no concept of what he's supposed to do or has a clue as to what is actually going on.

Since moron*, dickhead chaney and rumspuke all decided that the CIA needs to be marginalized, any and all real agents decided they wanted no part of this.

once moron* leaves office, (if he actually ever does), the poor bastard that is the next prez, well find a gov't filled with lacky's, cronies, sycophants and near-do-wells, (typical of moron's* crowd of well wishers). A shallow hollow gov't.
So if we get a real elected prez next time, expect their term to be one shake up after another. Cleaning house in other words. Gov't from scratch.

colossal racist failure*.

8. I have a confession to make...
Soon after 9/11, Barrie Zwicker, Canadian journalist and media critic, produced a series of 6 short commentaries called "The Great Deception". He was one of the first to see the inconsistencies and questionable acts in the events of that day. Anyway I obtained a few copies of his video based on his observations.

One of these copies I sent to my congressman Dennis Moore (D-3rd district KS) asking that 9/11 be thoroughly investigated, a couple of weeks later I received a letter from Moore thanking me for the tape and a letting me know he forwarded the tape on to Porter Goss, co-chair of the 9/11 Intelligence Inquiry. I thought, "Now we'll see results!" I really, really thought the truth of 9/11 would come out and be made public due to the efforts of this inquiry, Goss, my congressman, and ...me  I really, really thought Bush, the GOP, and the media would be usurped by the facts and truth would prevail. Now, I'm really, really embarrassed to admit that I was so juvenile and naive to believe such nonsense.

I'm sure Goss had a laugh when he received my tape. Possibly, Moore's office reacted the same way...:(

he had to toss the tape in the trash, but also, he ran a file on you to make sure that you would be monitored at all costs. :) :sarcasm:
