Insurgents attack around Abu Ghraib jail

BAGHDAD, Iraq --A suicide car bomb wrecked three vehicles in a U.S. convoy near Abu Ghraib prison Saturday, and insurgents fired seven mortar shells at the jail and used grenades to damage three armored vehicles in another American convoy in the area, Iraqi police said.

The U.S. military issued no immediate casualty reports in any of the incidents.

There were no other details on the damage inflicted around Abu Ghraib, a prison just west of Baghdad that was the scene of the torture and execution of countless political prisoners under Saddam Hussein and the abuse of detainees by American soldiers after the dictator's ouster.

5. somebody should free them...
they're being held illegally and without recourse to counsel.
They're being abused and tortured.

yes, someone should free them.

In a previous life, Americans would. In a previous life, we would have fought to PREVENT that sort of human rights abuse.

I miss that previous life.

6. talk about a propaganda rag of a newspaper
Someone needs to point out the "finding/looting" disparity of the following statement:

"Torture and execution of countless political prisoners under Saddam Hussein and the abuse of detainees by American soldiers"

The bias is so blatant.
