NEW YORK, Sept 17 (Reuters) - Support for the war in Iraq among
Americans has tumbled to an all-time low, according to a New York
Times/CBS News poll published on Saturday.

Only 44 percent of those surveyed said the United States did the right
thing by invading Iraq, the lowest rating since the question was first
asked by the poll more than two years ago, the poll showed, according
to The New York Times.

Furthermore, more than eight in 10 Americans are very or somewhat
concerned that the war is costing money and resources needed in the
United States, the poll showed.

Only 44 percent of those surveyed said the United States did the right thing by invading Iraq, the lowest rating since the question was first asked by the poll more than two years ago, the poll showed, according to The New York Times.

Furthermore, more than eight in 10 Americans are very or somewhat concerned that the war is costing money and resources needed in the United States, the poll showed.

The poll also showed sharp racial divides in how the war is perceived by Americans. Only 36 percent of white Americans felt the war was having a negative impact in their communities, compared to 58 percent of black Americans.

Nearly 60 percent now disapprove of the president's handling of the Iraqi conflict and nearly half of all Americans are not proud of what the United States is doing in the war, the poll found.

of what the US is doing in Iraq? That's just sick. I can sort of understand with all the lies that were told by the administartion that some people may have thought that it was necessary, but to be proud of it? I don't het it.

Katrina changed everything.

Every time an American is killed in Iraq, I will say "I told you so".

And I don't care who I offend. I will be heard, and I will defend myself if attacked.

16. I've gotten to the same point.

I generally don't discuss politics with strangers, but when the subject comes up, I just say, "Anyone who voted for boosh* is an idiot," and leave it at that. That's all. Usually, one of three responses occurs:

(1) Dead silence: I take that to mean that the person voted for Tinkles, but is having second thoughts.
(2) Agreement: We go off to have a beer or two or three.
(3) Standard boosh*lover defense: The stops are pulled out. So far, I've managed to back down two men who probably could have easily ripped off my arms and stuffed them up my ass. (Children, don't try this at home. I stand all of 5'7" on a good day and I know full well the risks I take.)

Offend them? Convert them? Couldn't care less. I don't even bother anymore. They have the Kool-Aid coursing through their veins and feel they've been touched by boosh's* Noodly Appendage. Fie on them.

bush and rummie and the whole stinkin' cabal of them all but promised this would be a cakewalk. Just go in there, change that Saddam regime, take over the oil, install democracy, and leave, all in less than a year.
